Good news at last in Afghanistan, they have qualified for the next cricket World Cup. In a country they has suffer so much in the last 30 years, it brings a little joy. (Let's hope the religious crazies there do not suddenly decide cricket is haram)

So what was the thread about?

"Congrats for Afghanistan" Or "Are shorts Haram (Not allowed) in Islam"?

Well. mr Qatar you raise a good point, KSA likes to be barbarians as well.

Rip Cord.. beheading is also a punishment in Ksa, and i never heard that sports were ever banned in afghanistan.. and for your kind info there current cricket team players are all canada residents and are sponsor by local afghan business ppl who are mostly in dubai not there govt.. so there is no difference between today's so called democratic govt and previous taliban govt..

Mr Qatar under the Taliban (religious crazies) these types of sports were banned. In fact the national stadium was used to behead people, nice.

I'm happy for our afghan friends to be able to enjoy peaceful sports like cricket and their success.

No they cannot as cricket is not played while wearing shorts which according to these myopic-visioned people is Haram. I recall when they were in power they had shaved off the heads of a football team as punishment for playing the game wearing shorts!
