Ok, here is a point.

I think NOT being satisfied with what we have of earthy materials (like cars, food, house, palace, oil, forests, water)destroys humanity.

Nuclear weapons - We already have so much of those enough to destroy earth god knows how many times and we're still piling them up. All we need is one crazy lunatic to drop it or push the button and thats it for us.

Global Warming - Just google it, you'll find lots of info.

Humanity is divided by religion, by nation, by colour, by race etc and they're already at each other's throat even now. Go figure.

I think religion and political ideologies will be the things to destroy us eventually. People mindlessly following "Gods" orders or the Presidents to certain destruction.

There are only two I can think of that could work on such a complete scale.

Greenhouse summer or nuclear winter (today the clock ticked to 5 minutes to midnight!)

Qatar will be one of the first to go if the former!

But if you are working on a thesis paper I reckon you just might be able to find a slightly more reliable source than Qatar Living (if you try really hard?)

Only one problem ! Too many people on this world wanting too much! So diminish the amount of people (doesn't sound like a good idea) or change your personal needs. It will just get worse new nations developing, economic growth resulting into more needs (cars, power,pollution,take up more space etc). Doesn't seem like it's getting any better does it ?

On the other hand we could maybe try and find another earth.

Let nature take it's course, two options

1 humans species will die out (where we really that important anyway in earth's history)

2 we will all evolve into a new cyberworld..........just kidding. Here is a (movie)script for you

People are unhappy with the traffic, they drive too fast. They might get an accident & die. The deads might be expatriates who work to feed their families back home. The families hear about the death of their relative; then, they decide to kill themselves because they cannot afford to pay the rent & food.
