GLOBAL DJ BELOW USUAL STANDARD!

Im sorry to say that tonight's global dj was below any standard i would have expected, and wasn't worth my time or money to go there.

Tonight Global DJ wasn't what i expected at all, I usually go with a couple of friends and have fun there and we enjoy our time.

Even though i admit there was an increase in security, security were letting in there younger friends, and inside the actual tent young people were drinking and smoking and honestly making a mess of things.

I honestly can't say anything bad or insult the managing staff the had organised the night, they had good intentions of giving us a good night out, but the security and kids ruined the night.

Tonight i was hoping of enjoying the last Global DJ of the year but instead i ended up leaving thirty minutes later.

Once again I thank the organisers but envy the security. Please feel free to comment upon my opinion.

No one should take offence to this forum, but measures should be taken to improve the next Global Dj's!

I was a silent spectator to the particular forum started by Master_jay inviting people to the Global DJs Jam. I decided to check out the nite and then speak out. So thats 2 ticket sales for Master Jay because of Qatar Living ;-)

The +'s

1. No complaints about the 80 bucks. We had a good time.

2. The music was good. The sound system/acoustics could be much better. How did the DJ Aqeel jig sound so good in the same tent a month ago?

3. Security non-interference. They just let the lads and lasses have fun.

4. It was like- Drag Queens of Doha -UNITE! Fun to watch.

5. Doha can do with more such dos.

The -'s

1.Too Too Smoky. Cigarette smoke. Maybe I am prejudiced since I am a non-smoker...but my undergarments stank of cigarette smoke.

2. The sad part was what EVILOOPS said about the underaged crowd. (Ref: You Must Be Having A Laugh!!! » reply Submitted by eviloops on Wed, 13/12/2006 - 10:23pm.) > There were kids aged between 11 and 16. I could see atleast 20 (and I didnt go searching,so...). There should have been an age restriction on the booze atleast.

3. The vicious cycle of drinking, puking, getting chucked out by the guards was repeated quite a few times.

4. Rampant making-out scenes which is very UNLIKE qatar. (Should this have been in the +'s ?)

5. Parking arrangement was pathetic. Ample space, but no attendants to monitor and hence chaotic parking. Was tough on people who wanted to leave early (after 2.00 AM)

I will be there for the next one to see if it's gonna be better.

PS: I noticed that the Entry Stamp which was on my wrist read something like - MARCH 16th , MASTER JAY, SCOT something and DJ JOE MITRI! I will the let the Qatar Living denizens to make what they will out of this...;-)

The crowd was all guys that you would never expect in an electronic event with over sized clothing tending to be hiphop crowd. I find the crowd mainly males very few females... Most ladies i know go to nightclub like admirls, pearl etc..

GD's really needs to step up there crowd quality cause its going down hill very fast. They need to offer ladies night or free alchol something to attract more of the other gender.

how rowdy or boring is the crowd? parties ive seen like these are usually crazy but pretty harmless..but how is the crowd there in doha for house or electronic parties? frankly im quite relieved there is at least parties like that over there, i was beginning to wonder...

I have to say I went last night and was disappointed, paid 80 riyals for a no name line up and the crowd was terriable.... i can go on about the crowd but this is Doha so it is expected in such events.

But it is still good to see that they are the one of the few companies pushing the electronic music scene in doha so i give them props on that. So people complain about the music, you know its a electronic event so what is there to complain about.

I agree with people about the underage issue. The only way this can be done is have a wet and dry event meaning if there under 21 mark there hands with a big red X. This will mean that no one can serve them alchol and if seen drinking they will be removed from the premises, this will also mean improvement on security inside the venue. This is done in states and a few other countries. This is the best way to solve this issue since underage always manage to get in no matter how strict management is.
