FOUR expatriates lost their lives in two road accidents this weekend – with another driver injured in a third crash.
Among the dead were three work colleagues from a cleaning company and a Somali trucker.
The first fatality occurred on Friday when a truck careered into the trailer of another truck near Abu Nakhla on Salwa Road. In the impact of the collision, the front portion of one of the trucks came off.
The early morning collision created a mass of twisted metal out of the huge trailer, and left the Somali truck driver dead.
Community sources told Gulf Times that the tragic accident occurred close to Interchange 29 which has been the scene of numerous crashes in the past.
The next terrible loss of life happened almost 24 hours later near Al Jemaliya after a vehicle suffered a tyre blow-out.

May they rest in peace..

Baldrick, you are right. The problem is that many a time, these companies hire the cheapest labour available and put them in "positions" not neccessary suited to their skills.

In our site one subcontractor vehicle have a accident in one road of doha and the cause was a tyre...

I recommend you to check your tyres once a month and the pressure twice a month.

...Don't you think it's time Qatar as a nation starts being a little choosier about who they give a driving license to, whilst at the same time invests heavily in a public transport system that works.

I've seen guy here whose 'profession' is driver, and their only qualification is they have a license.

In UK to drive a bus you need a PSV license and to be a chauffuer you need to pass the advanced driving test,

here they let any fool loose on the roads with his passengers lives in his hands. Something needs to change!
