Find Lost Phone Without IMEI no.?
A friend of mine lost his phone in a shop and when he realised it was missing, he tried calling his phone ,but its switched off. The shop people dont know anything about it. Sadly he doesnt even have his IMEI no.
So is there NO way of recovering or tracing that phone?

now i'm getting curious of what's inside that mobile...lol,.
he remembers the date & the shop from where he bought it may be they can give him duplicate receipt. On this receipt they do mention the IMEI number. They might ask for 1-2 days to retrieve that duplicate receipt but its worth it

if u still keep the box, normally you can see the imei no there

tsk tsk tsk... try to ask him to check the official receipt when he bought the phone, or the warranty card.

I was just wondering...wont QTEL have the logs or something? No other way of finding the IMEI no. without finding the box?
thieves are interested only in MONEY nothing else unless if you have private video of any girl (especially living in Qatar)in NUDE then hmmm sorry to say that you will see it in every person's mobile in Qatar.

Either know the IMEI No. or know the person who steal the phone.. Else No way...

Hes not bothered about the phone, just the files inside it.
Ok, my friend does have some important files in the mobile . Are they at risk too?
CAPITAL POLICE must get alert if each and every crime is being reported to them especially MOBILE THEFT which is very easy but profitable especially for ASIANS who can get huge profit by selling such stolen valuable items back in their countries

thieves in QATAR are very clever they will sell this phone outside Qatar and will also throw away SIM CARD too.
So IMEI number is extremely vital. I don't know any latest development in Qtel technology that's why i said that he must go to CAPITAL POLICE and file complaint

Yes, but he does not have the IMEI no. of this phone. So is there NO way to recover it? Normally Qtel gets the details of the SIm card and IMEI no. I think, so just by providing the no., Qtel can identify the IMEI no. too right?
must file a case for STOLEN/LOST mobile. Give some details may be you might get lucky in near future or CAPITAL POLICE might help you out in some way.

In future, ask you friend to be very much careful and save that IMEI number with HIGHEST PRIORITY.

the procedure is that you have to submit your STOLEN/LOST case to CAPITAL POLICE. They will ask for your IMEI number (which is must)as they have to fax it to QTEL to trace that mobile when ever it will be switched on. then they will provide you FILE number which will be used as reference in future.
