Filipino or Keralite ONLY !!!!

Migsawy
By Migsawy

Hello All,

I would appreciate if someone could shed some light why most of the accommodation options have restrictions on the nationality they want to rent/share a flat/room with.

If you want a Filipino or Keralite roommate why come to Qatar in the first place ? If you do not want to integrate with people from other backgrounds or other cultures why don't you stay in your own country and save yourselves the hassle of avoiding other people.

@ Baldrick,well put mate! :)...

@ Migsawy, you did take into account the fact that Indians(& amongst them Keralites!) followed by Filipinos constitute the majority of the single(& married!) expat population in this country before posting this I assume?...

Couple that with Baldrick's post & i think both would collectively shed a fair amount of light on the issue in question! :)...

The fair and cute looks, wearing all the branded items while out on the town and trying to act like the distant relatives of the americans can be quite deceiving when you go to actually visit the pinoys at their divided and

again sub divided rooms and be sure not to get anywhere close to their kitchen

Some of this Kerala guys stay ten and more to a small room (4 x 4.5 mtrs) and then they are under the impression that they own the whole area or building and if you are the lucky one to share the same building or a block of rooms with this guys be prepared for their things that spill out of their rooms and into the hallways and any available, open and free spaces around and the excited and loud noises they make when they are on the phone to wifey back home can give you a nervous breakdown.

Just listen to me my friend... I understand about your situation. Okey, lets pretend that they don't like to share to other nationality or maybe they had bad experienced before. And about the values?...It's very difficult to know person values at first place?... .okey maybe you had that values what you said like tidiness, organized, cleanliness or even honesty. But there are very specific about there requirements. So, be real and understand what there rights to choose! Just my humble opinion.Peace!

No offense to all, but who you are comfortable with and want to share you place with is simply a choice, this is not an issue of racism, it's just that people of the same culture would get along better, you have to consider that you will be in a closed living space, even husbands and wives have misunderstandings, what more if it's a multicultural environment in closed confines, just the way i see it ;) being realistic thats all it is...

Filipinos only take a bird bath during the morning, keralite are always smelling like rotten garlic, tweeking their heads and holding hands and arses happily. Is obvious both are different cultures, one dark brown and the other half yellow and white with slanted eyes.

Do you REALLY want to share a room with 5 Keralites, who will all want to watch Bollywood and cricket on TV and eat curry every night. How long do you think you'd last.

Would you share with 5 Filipinos who would talk all night in Tagalog (or some other dialect) that you don't understand and get paranoid thinking they are talking about you?

Would you share with 4 drunken Brits who sit on the sofa watching footie, scratching their balls and farting loudly, laughing at how funny their farts smell?

Yes, I'm stereotyping, but you get the picture? Why not just share with some fellow Arabs and let the rest of us get on with our own lives?

By anonymous• 6 Jun 2011 17:16
anonymous

Friends let's be honest; we Indians have a 'scent' that others may not tolerate.

M not 'bashing' my country, but just saying, our foods have proud smells and that is not kind too sensitive noses of others countries.

By anonymous• 6 Jun 2011 17:16
anonymous

its a choice...thats simple...why make yourself so stressfull???if you ask us not to come here???why you also came here if you don't respect peoples choice???you are only insecure coz maybe nobody wants to accomodate you....

better pack up your things and go back to your home country...

By NPA• 6 Jun 2011 16:57

okey... i have a very big flat in mansoura, would you like to share with me or if you have your own flat, can i share with you. but please note that i'm a former ex-convict back home so if you made me feel uneasy you will end up in hell.

By anonymous• 6 Jun 2011 16:55

Why don't you put yourself into them? It is there rights to choose! Simple as that!

I think the criteria on which such a decision is made is definitely not based on nationality. When choosing someone to share your accommodation with it should be based on values such as tidiness, organized or not, cleanliness, honesty. Just because two people share the same personality does not mean that they are compatible or share the same values.

To believe that your fellow kinsman is more compatible with you because you share a nationality is just ridiculous.

If I had issues with foreigners I wouldn't have decided to live in a foreign country.

People come to Qatar for the money not always to make friends. Thus they feel happy with what they know and that is people from their home area. Not my style but some expats get into little hometown groups that the nicest outside cant break into....
