Ferry services instead of Bridge for now

Why can't some entrepreneur think of starting a private ferry services from Qatar to Bahrain and U.A.E, this way people can take their cars along with them and eliminates the cost of building a bridge which can be very expensive.
I know focus around here is on developing the airline industry, and there can be many demerits like people may flock to Bahrain or UAE for shopping, but then isn't a healthy competition good anyways.
The other benefit is tourism may increase as people can quickly hop on a sail and see relative without having to wait and seek land approval.

TB he did, he swam from Dukhan to a near by Bahraini Island just off the coast of western Qatar, but technically he was in Bahrain.

Ferry from Qatar to Bahrain (less than one hour) is a good idea, but from Doha to UAE,take long time.

It could be set up in a very short time

I think this would be a good idea.

Well part of the metro/rail plan is for a long distance line going to Bahrain via the 'new' bridge as well as through Saudi linking up with the UAE.

If I wanted to drive to Bahrain I would be happy to get a ferry, it would be better and still quicker than driving through Saudi. However, for example, I am going to Bahrain for the weekend soon so its all about flying and probably will be!

Yes I agree with your bright idea, ferry as one of Transportation to neighboring countries but what about a bullet train or a Metro as an alternative to road trip.

Who knows in the future, as Qatar is starting to build a local Metro. a chance to expand this project for crossing the countries.

Lets hope for continuous development of Qatar.

Ferry would be slow and tedious... after traveling at 160kmph nobody would want to travel at 25kmph... on the Sea... to Bahrain & Back

Heehehhe...

Simple answer is they have not think of it at all...

They always follow western countries and don;t have brain of their own..hahaha!

Your suggestion should be taken into consideration but who will tell them....that is big deal!
