family visa raised 10k

MANAT2010
By MANAT2010

Only those expatriates who earn a minimum salary of QR10,000 monthly would now be eligible to obtain a family visa, it is learnt.

The special panel at the Ministry of Interior that decides on family visa applications from expatriates has raised the salary criterion from QR8,000 to QR10,000, Al Sharq reported yesterday.

It had been raised from QR7,000 to QR8,000 some time ago.

The committee that was earlier functioning at the Ministry of Labour had been shifted to the Ministry of Interior. The panel comprises representatives from different government bodies including the Ministry of Labour.

The salary requirement has now been revised taking into account the rising cost of living in the country, the daily said.

Expatriates bringing their families to Qatar should have the financial capacity to maintain a decent standard of living.

The special panel will scan every family visa application from expatriate employees before taking a decision. It has its own ways to detect false information as well as fake documents provided by the applicants, said the daily.

I totally 100% agree with you their.. no hands down dear, and you do go on about gays don’t you girl. Do you have a hidden topic you want to disclose with us flor????? Give me a kiss and i will tell you hehehehheh you devil... but why would you make your husband and kids suffer and sacrifice their freedom back home just so you can have them here under your watchful eye because you don’t trust them,,, very selfish of you,, where would you put then, not in the little room you live in with you room mates sharing. No i would not have to be dreaming to think you are earning more then me. I bet you are with all the skills you have and what your saving living in a shoe box. God bless you girl. sleep tight

it confirmed that you are a GAY. Where did I say 7K a year?

It"s 7K QAR per month. Get out of your palace to see the common man. The simpleness of life is not measured by the abundance of money as you think. Filipinos are traditionally simple people and we don't live in excessive style.

Again before you misread again, WE ARE talking about Qatar life here so if you are even contemplating of mentioning life back home, forget it, Mr. Kangaroo Dog.

Filipino family is very happy when together. And we know how to appreciate what God had provided us.

But again, if you ever think that you are earning more than I do, think again, Mr. GAY.

I'm with Drovers Dog on this. It seems so selfish for me to drag your wife and kids to live in the desert and deny your children a childhood of playing outdoors in safety and peace.

Why would people want to raise their children in tiny apartments in tower blocks where they have no access to parks and play areas and streets?

There is more to life than the pitiful salaries that people earn in Qatar.

If you are going to have kids, live in a country where they will get a good upbringing. Not Qatar.

what life style will you provide your family of 4 on 7k a year flor,,,,1 room living like Cockroaches. no car, using car lifts, eating simple and hope to get invited to a night out for a free feed, what about vacation.. medical cost, they are better at home in their jungle with their friends and family then being here poor just so daddy can have mommy here because he dont trust what she doing back home while he is here.. but each to their own...

ties are so strong, we would like to be with our love ones when the children are still young and they will be back in our country when they reach college.

But yes, I believe certain level of salary is needed to have a decent life here for the love ones. 10K is reasonable. But I honestly believe that with the simpleness of our level of living comfort, 7K is enough for a family of 4 (2 small children).

I'm yet to understand why you would want to bring your family to Qatar where the children will have nothing to do most of the time other than sit inside or go to malls. Doha isn't bad for busy professionals, but is it really a suitable place to bring up children?

Actually it should be at least 24.000. That's the minimum you need to support a family of four!

DD, 10k is really a good limit for me also. Honestly, if I am the breadwinner of the family and getting 10k and below, I will not even think to bring my family here. I would rather sacrifice away from them...they will have better life in my country than here.

waelalkhatib: The raise of Salary is applicable both in public as well as the prvt sector. However, only Qatari nationals are legible to benefits from the surplus in the safe! o_O!

This Really Suck, dont get me wrong but i am not affected by this, but they admit that the cost of living is now higher, they admit you need more money to let your family live better, but the government forced only the Private sector to do a raise between 60% to 120%, well how about the private sector? and most probably this cost of living was raised because of those raises to the private sector.

How will you support your wife and kids here if you do not earn the money required to live with the high cost of living and rent,,,,, 10,000 is a good limit,

"...we don't know the rule to be imposed"

And there we have it - out of the mouth of QL's number 1 brown nose expatriate, yet another example of how laws are amended or introduced with no thought given to how it will be implemented or what the implications or repercussions will be - in short, not joined up thinking!! Yet another U turn beckons - just like the "lets get rid of cheques" law that was passed a while ago and then revoked when it was discovered that most people in the country pay their rent with post dated cheques and the legislature was in no position to bring in anything in the least bit as effective....aaaaaarggghhhhhhhhhh

Why do they do it - like Flor's contributions to QL, it does nothing for the credibility.

By anonymous• 13 Dec 2011 15:20

so what can we do about it,,, easy if you dont like it leave, you should have a degree to have a family visa sure,, that wil keep the uneducated out,, why not whats the problem with that,, more breading and strain on the medical world here in qatar,,, get a good job and dont worry ,,,, be happy

By flor1212• 13 Dec 2011 14:13
flor1212

BUT if you have completed the first 5 years and apply again, we don't know the rule to be imposed! But it's worth a try even if your husband is not getting more 10K and compliment it if you are working and earning already. You can include that in your documents. Just hope that it will be considered.

By Maryam88• 13 Dec 2011 14:08

basically be driven by the supply and demand factor In this country, you just need to abide by the requirements. If they say 10K so be it. MAybe in a few weeks or months, they will lower it or increase it more.

It maybe discouraging to certain nationalities but those with hefty check will not complain unless their budget for booze is affected. Lol!
