Falcon Club

In much of the stuff about QP the Falcon Club is mentioned (private club for QP employees). Often I see comments about it closing in discussion. What's really going on? Has QP replaced it?

If you play golf. Messaieed GC has a pool and it's QP and so subsidised.

The RAA Beach & Boat Club (QP)

Dukhan Boat & Beach Club (QP and much better that RAA) but 85k away.

There is also a SS social club in Dukhan but again it's 85k away.

Many more hotel associated clubs have sprung up since I left.

We belonged to the Ramada Cabana for a number of years

Ok, any suggestions for clubs for an HR guy with QP, wife and two boys (15 and 11) to join (or probably as important not join)? I'm open.

its gone... and nothing replace it. Alternatively u can join to Al Ghazal club where the junior staffs goes. But it was really crowded. Too many bachelor staffs hanging around and i do sometimes feel uncomfortable. So we never join that either.

Yes Don, sadly it's gone to make way for the athletes village (they also took the old QGPC Offshore housing compound).

They have talked for years of building a replacement club behind the offices at Ras Abu Abboud but that's all they do.....talk.

I believe they may have to come to some arrangement with local clubs regarding a reduced membership fee but again am not sure.

Of course with the FC having gone there is now nowhere to host visiting artists or events and the subsidised club catering has now also disappeared. There may be an opportunity to use the Gazelle Club but personally I wouldn't bother.
