if qatar doesnt want so many ppl on the roads, then why not stop bringing ppl in to work?

I've failed the road test 2 times. One of the guys who works at the school said it depends on if your examiner is in a good mood. Unfortunately that doesnt happen. I hear of many women being passed but men rarely pass. Of 300 men they test I never heard one name followed by 'PASS'. I heard that the examiners cant stand fillipinos so they fail them many times. Im getting seriously angry with qatar. Dumb rules, you cant hold your nerve together with 25 ppl watching you from behind in the bus. The examiners can barely speak english, after one minute you get failed and dont even find out if you failed until over an hour 30 minutes later in the school and they dont give you reasons unless you ask them. Qatar....wake up and come into the 21st century, driving shouldnt be done like this. Your teachers are crap, they barely teach us anything. They take us on the same routes everyday, never onto big roundabouts, complete joke. Waste of money and time.

30 minutes are enough for a person to build one 100 cars ... now a days ...

For testing driving skills even first 30 seconds will tell the final results ...

This post confirm what I was told before. 1 minute driving test and other learners in a bus following the car. Then the next learner goes in the same car and so on until all learner drivers are tested.

My God! What nonsense is this? This must be one of the reasons why we have so many accidents here. Learner drivers are not fully prepared to face the raods! In my country,I failed my first test after 30 minutes driving and passed it second time again in a 30 mins test. All kind of manoeuvres, 3 point turns, reversing round a bend, hill start, driving round multiple round about, emergency stop, overtaking another car, etc. Do they do all this here in 1 minute?

So, to in closing just wanted you to know. I've never taken a proper driving lesson in my life and this was my first license. I took a full course and was told to take it half way through. My instructor told me that they're going to fail me anyway... So I just went for it.

Maybe it was me being a female or maybe it was my nationality, who knows.

But I passed.. at first try!

10. Be pro-active. I asked the examiner where to go so at least I know when to set my indicator or move from lane to lane. Be sure that you ask this in a polite & confident manner or he'll think you're just nervous or in a haste.

11. Always stop behind a vehicle with a space as per your guide book. Just because they're doing bumper to bumper everywhere in the world doesn't make it right. You'll fail immediately.

12. Know when to control the speed & brake at speed humps or curves. If he had to hold on to the door handle next to him - you failed.

13. ROundabout - signal & head check are very important.

14. Side parking - Slow down, signal, stop, hand break up, Gear to P & Emergency ind on.

Watch out for No-Entry signs as well.

They don't want to give you a license - too many drivers on the roads already..

1. Walk and get into the car with confidence.

2. Greet the examiner.

3. Put on seat belt. Adjust Seat, rear view and side mirrors - apparently it's important.

4. Turn off Emergency Indicator. Foot ready on break pad, hand break down.

5. Shift gear to D and turn on indicator. Look over your shoulder before you let go the break pad.

6. While driving - always perform rear and side mirror check. Don't use your eyes only - they looked at your head's movement.

7. Be aware of the speed limit on the street - maintain speed even if instructed.

8. Don't park at the No Park areas.

9. Turn on indicator at the correct timing. Especially at a roundabout. Read your guide book prior to the test.

TBC..

I think they see how fast you drive and how you control the car. He will tell you to speed up and then suddenly he will tell you to take turns, that's the time when they see how the person react. keep eye on this and best of luck next time.

I don't agree with Krisp, Try and try until you succeed.

There are many drivers here who has taken more than 2 test and driving properly and safely.

Please motivate, rather than discouraging someone..

if you fail here 2 times you better stay away from the Doha's road ppls here drive very dangerously and careless mean if you not skill enough you may...

Test here I think not really hard unlike Dubai. During road test even if you show that you hesitate to do as per order. they'll fail you because it's important for driver to make good and shape decision.

Come here ,, I am all shoulders :O(

To make it easier for you, and to feel much better

Think out of the box:

1- Maybe you said good morning, and his morning wasn't good, so he felt offended.

2- Maybe your dress, try speedos, it is Hot these days anyway.

3- Maybe the way you look at him, try to blink and wink more that direct mean looks.

If all his didn't work

Ask for a Happy Ending

Good luck my dear!!

Shoulder check is very important, Follow the three point mirror rule, put indicators at the right time..

Speed limit while taking humps,

the officer may suddenly ask you to take (right/left) turn, when its not safe to do so...You should tell him that you cannot since it unsafe...It really happens to check your mental presence...

By landloverreview• 31 Jul 2013 11:59

Close the door properly.. Perform all the steps after he says you to "Start".

By dh76• 31 Jul 2013 11:57

Check mirrors and signal before statring to drive and do not overspeed even by 1 KpH...many people fail on speed.

we need to do double ' headcheck '.

May be the officer head might have hit the top of the car, when you had taken the humps.. Two humps are more than enough for forcing you to stop..LOL

A few went there without having a bath , I am not sure ... but that is what the result shows ...

Sorry man, but drivers license test in Qatar is a joke... If you catch the officer in a good mood, then you pass...

and then there's always the 'vastha' effect, where you don't have to really pass the road test... ;)

are sure there's no mistake. if you said you pass humps, it might be about the gear positioning when you drive (if you drive manual) if automatic maybe braking distance before the humps. anyways, it's really difficult nowadays for the driving license, don't worry you still have 2 more chances before they told you to go back for driving course again. good luck buddy,,,,

where did the officer tell u to park ?

while parking u need to use the indicator and if u r parking in emergency lane use hazard or else Fail

ask the school, generally they give you a list with things which you have made mistakes in, maybe you are over speeding while going on the humps or the opposite.
