Erroneous traffic violation

I received a traffic violation ticket, location=Oman, I never visited Oman. Amount is 10 OMR. Date of voilation Nov-2013, i recieved violation on Jun-2014. I read in one of the post in QL, one member got a traffic ticket for OMAN and he had to visit customs to prove he did not travel to Oman and then he had to visit traffic department. Is this avoidable, whats easy way to reverse this mistake from traffic department.
Kindly suggest.

Rush to madina khalifa traffic and meet senior officers to justify your stand as you are not at fault.

....it happened to me also, I went directly to Main office Muror and you can ask there too...they will guide you to the right authority and you will just explain and defend...nothing to show evidence...just defend firmly...it's what I did..when they're convinced, they delete the violation right away without payment ...no explanation further...
