1.  Hereke Legendary Carpets (January 11 – January 31, 2017)

Come check out our unique carpet exhibition taking place at the Gate Mall from January 10-31. The marvelous silk and wool Hereke carpets of the Sultan Abdülmecid period will be showcased.

These carpets, established in 1843, have been crowned as pinnacles of High Renaissance in the East. Appreciate this sensational occurrence that impacted the world and reflected the qualities and heritage of that era.

2.   Magical Festival Village (January 19 - April 30, 2017)

The Magical Festival Village encompasses an ambiance full of peppy colorful life and amusement for all the visitors.

A beautiful place where guests will enjoy shopping from the retail boutiques that have merchandising and products from all over the world meet different interests, and the actual entertainment that has been developed and designed to attract various agesIt’s fun for the entire family with the Magical Festival Village this year.

3.  Souq Waqif Spring Festival (January 20 – February 2, 2017)

Enjoy live performances of traditional songs and dances by Qatar, Jordan, Saudi Arabia entertainment groups.

Several cultural performances and shows will happen on stage throughout the 15-day festival, at different parts of Souq Waqif. Several popular Arab singers and artists will perform at a dedicated stage.

The popular dolphin show is back at the Souq Waqif’s amusement park (Al Ahmed Square). Shows will be on from 4pm to 5pm and 7pm to 8pm.

Al Ahmed Square will host eight games for children (4 to 10.30pm) as well as amusement rides like Crazy Frog, Ranger, Caterpillar, Crazy Fire, and Extreme Swing.

The Blue Drummers, Alien Percussion, Toy Soldier, Rainbow Parade, Orange Drummers, and Venice Group are some of the other shows that are being planned.

Abdul Aziz Nasser Theatre (Mirqab Hotel) will host a separate ‘Kids Show’ daily at 7.30pm from Friday to February 2 while Majlis Al Damah features a ‘Spring Championship Damh for professionals and amateurs.

Art lovers and artists can take part in activities at the Souq Waqif Art Centre from 4 to 10.30pm.

4.  Doha Film Institute Presents ‘Abdullah’ in its ongoing Hekayat Khaleejiya Series (January 26 – January 27, 2017)

Growing up in a very conservative family where many things are “haram” (forbidden in Islam), Abdullah struggles over the years to hide his love for music.

Hekayat Khaleejiya, which translates to ‘Stories from the Gulf’, is a quarterly screening series dedicated to showcasing cinematic voices from the Gulf region. Taking place at the Museum of Islamic Art, the series presents films accompanied by question-and-answer sessions with the filmmakers to gain insight into their work and process.

5.  2017 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters (January 26 – January 29, 2017)

The 20th edition of the prestigious European Tour event is heading to Doha Golf club from 26-29 January 2017, featuring some of the world’s most exciting and successful players.

Tournament Schedule

The 2017 Commercial Bank Qatar Masters will feature a field of established European Tour champions and rising stars, with a prize fund of USD2.5 million up for grabs along with valuable ranking points.

Since 1998 the prestigious Qatar Masters golf tournament has been hosted by Doha Golf Club. The annual tournament is sponsored by The Commercial Bank (Q.S.C.) and is held at the beginning of each year as part of The European Tour. Many of the world's top golfers compete on Doha Golf Club's unique and challenging desert-type Championship Course, which has proven to be one of the longest par 72 courses on the tour.

6.   Real Madrid Foundation Campus Experience Qatar 2017 (January 27 – January 31, 2017)
