Brit: I firmly believe it was just too quick an assumption to post that the cause of the crash was due to an explosion when even the authorities were searching for the wreckage and trying to pinpoint the cause of the disappearance of the plane from the radar. That was what my objection was all about. Even after so many hours of the tragic incident the word "likelihood" was being used. One just should not jump to conclusions and give an authoritative comment when facts are still foggy.

Given the recent goings on in Egypt, including the last downing of a Metrojet Flight 9268 over Sinai and the way the contact with the aircraft was lost strongly indicated terrorism and something which more than likely took out the aircraft in a very short timespan.

Therefore , WT's suggestion was logical - wasn't it ?

But people here were quick to jump and predict it was an explosion even while the authorities were searching for tell-tale signs.

You are lucky it has turned out the way you had predicted. However, one is definitely stupid to make a prediction when nobody in the world knew the cause of the crash not even the Egyptian authorities. Possibly some people are soothsayers or have a crystal ball on their table which they gaze upon to give their predictions.

Yep... Terrorism the most likely outcome - whch means most probably a bomb .. which menas an explosion and most likely fire in the sky ...

In the past hour, EgyptAir said on its Twitter account that a distress signal had been received by Egypt's military from flight MS804 (though it is unclear whether they meant an automated signal or a manual one).

Now, Egypt's military, in a statement, says no such signal was received.

If there was no problem visible for the pilot what probably could it have been other than a surprise?

You are ofcourse right as usual MM... A person on a ship should not look upwards or towards the horizon and note anything unusual .. He should just look at the waves ...

That type of reporting often follows after an incident ........ what does that mean , it is not his duty to see in the sky being at the ship we need to concentrate at the see surface ...... ......... how could one be able to see the exact happening ........ ?

At least I don't make wild guesses from the chair of my office that it "exploded." Is your theory that it "exploded" more reliable than the news from a news channel?

WT: As per latest information that I have from a news channel, Egyptian authorities fear the plane ditched into the sea. Let's wait for more updates. Your guess that it "exploded" was just too premature and simply reflected how you look even at such tragic incidents.

Let us wait for some more information before passing judgments and pray for the safety of passengers and crew.
