Dutch pull spy from Iran - fear attack

Didn't know the Dutch had a secret service ..Anyway, food for thought..

Dutch intelligence service has pulled an agent out of an "ultra-secret operation" spying on Iran's military industry because spymasters in Netherlands believe a United States air attack was imminent.

According to reports in the newspaper De Telegraaf, the country's intelligence service, the AIVD, has stopped an espionage operation aimed at infiltration and sabotage of the weapons industry in Iran.

"The operation, described as extremely successful, was halted recently in connection with plans for an impending US air attack on Iran," said the report.

"Targets would also be bombed which were connected with the Dutch espionage action."

"Well placed" sources told the paper that a top agent had been recalled recently "because the US was thought to be making a decision within weeks to attack Iran with unmanned aircraft".

"Information from the AIVD operation has in recent years been shared with the American CIA secret service."

Brig Gen Seyyed Massoud Jazayeri, deputy chief of the Iranian armed forces, warned at the weekend that military attacks against Iran would trigger a Third World War.

"The exorbitant demands of the US leaders and the global Zionism which have created the current situation in Iraq, Afghanistan, Sudan and Caucasus are gradually directing the world to the edge of the cliff," he said.

Iran has warned it would close the strategic Strait of Hormuz, the entrance to the Gulf and a major oil shipping route, if it is attacked.

On Friday, the Israel newspaper Ma'ariv reported that Israel has stepped up preparations for a contingency plan to attack Iran, should diplomatic efforts, via the United Nations, fail to derail Tehran's suspected nuclear weapons programme.

...to predict!

Strikes in Iran may encourage other countries to obtain nuclear weapons in a bid to ward off US strikes!

The Arabs may not do anything directly to prevent the destruction of Iran and removal of it's leaders, they they sure will dabble in the processes afterwards, by fair means or foul, in an attempt to gain their own inflences!

You think it's bad now, if the US do strike, hatred towards the US around the world will grow exponentially, and suicide bomber will no longer be looked at in disgust, but in admiration by so many more people!

That's only in the middle east. I could right a thesis on how I think the Asian countries will react and what measures they feel they will have to take!

Terrorist and governments alike will ensure that people do not forget the others "ills" to ensure that they have a common enemy!

The relative world safety that we have today will be no more!

Then there's Russia! It won't just trigger another cold war, but an Ice Age

Nothing more to scare the hell out of us working here in Qatar than some Middle East issues to make the whole world look on to the US of A...

You gotta love it...

The Arabs won't do anything apart from making noises because they don't like the Iranians and would like to see their power diminished.

This one I don't know. Maybe it's still the Ayatollah Khomeini syndrome...

I agree with you. I personally believe that Russia was manouvered into taking the steps it did.

My point is that the Western indignation has come to nothing concrete and most of the public has already forgotten about it.. Look at the postings heer for instance..

If Iran does get hit, Russia will probabaly be in a stronger bargaining position reagrding possible future bases in the region.

The Arabs won't do anything apart from making noises because they don't like the Iranians and would like to see their power diminished.

...of the Russians.

Given the circumstances, I don't believe it was that immoral! I geniunely think that Putin can sleep at night thinking what he did was right! That was minor league!

This situation is different!

This can spark off some major repercussions!

Surely, every major country who goes to war has something on their minds. In Israel, the Holy Land. In Iraq, the oil. Etcetera etcetera...

Iranian casualties will be explained as "unavoidable".. The masses don't care as long as US soldiers are not killed..

It would make sense..

Russia wants to deploy missiles to defend Iran..

Attack after that could be dangerous.

America doesn't want to deploy or commit troops .

Republicans need to show that they are more committed to the defense of America than Obama.

So, the best option is attack eye-ran using drones and high altitude bombers..

I don't think so, IMHO, just another deliberately leaked story to scare Iran!

Saying that though, if the scare tactics don't work, the US may just take action!
