'Dubai is rife with affairs and boozing...

I think I'mm off to Dubia on my next contract.............

The British businessman accused of having sex on a Dubai beach has spoken of the state where drinking and extra-marital affairs are rife.

Vince Acors launched his broadside just five days after he was finally allowed to fly home to London having spent almost six months trapped in the oil-rich emirate - then claimed he wanted to return there.

Today he held a press conference at which he criticised the moral and legal 'contradictions' of the gulf state which he branded 'a city of excess'.

However, he bizarrely claimed that he holds 'no hard feelings' about the way he was treated and said he would like to return to the country for business reasons.

Speaking publicly for the first time since his arrest, Acors, 36, said: 'Dubai is a massive contradiction.

'Everything is available but it is also illegal. Every single hotel has a bar and all of them have cheap or even free drink evenings.

'You are allowed to go to these places and drink a huge amount of alcohol but when you go outside you get arrested.'

He continued: 'In the bars and clubs people are openly affectionate. You see all these local guys with girls.

'You see people in relationships with people to whom they are not married.

'We were just doing what everyone else was. But in our case we were in the wrong place at the wrong time.'

He added: 'It is a city of excess.'

Acors claimed that yesterday's press conference was his chance to 'set the record straight' about what had happened. He denied that he and Miss Palmer had sex, but admitted that they had been 'overly affectionate'.

He claimed not to remember how much he had drunk, but said: 'We were both conscious of what was going on.

Though he admitted he had been 'extremely naive', he appeared to blame the capricious nature of Dubai law - where something is tolerated one moment, but punished the next - for his ordeal.

He said: 'These brunches are famous. They are advertised on the flights when you go there. When you are there you pay a one-off fee and they keep filling up your glass.'

Under the terms of his deportation order, Acors, who runs his own telecoms company, is barred from returning to the city for three years. However yesterday he claimed that he would like to return earlier.

He said: 'Whilst I was over there I made some useful business contacts. I am going to make an application to the UAE embassy here to go back.

Acors said he ran up large legal fees defending himself and said he hopes to sell his story to a newspaper to help recoup the cost.

Why should Brits always get the bad name ?

Double standards and hypocrisy at work again......

"A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening tear on the cheek of a golden child.

But personally,I'd mud wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sackful of porn."

Blackadder.

I know Doha is an affair-infested city too and no one can deny that! Technically speaking, Dubai really is the city of excess. This is a good advertisement for Dubai.

Dubai- the Emirate of captivating lights, High-Rises, Man-Made Islands and glamorous shopping and dining.

P.S. No extra and pre-marital sex allowed.

cheers,

paul

I cant disagree with some of things he states, but I have a friend who met him a few months before this all happened. I dont know if anyone has seen the film Green Street. Well Mr Acors tried to convince everyone that it was written about him and his friends. He's a dillusional fantasist who has probably gone to the Tabloids to make a pound note.

He's a clown.

Everywhere in the world is rife with affairs and booze. It's just that some places are better at keeping it secret than others! Though perhaps this is Dubai's big plan to get more tourists - all publicity is good publicity.
