Is Dubai really that good?

If there is one competition everybody in this country wants to jump to the nearest place, it's always Dubai. We keep hearing job offers are good, more open to any non-Muslim expatriates, better nightlife, easy visas, many friends over there, etcetera etcetera...

Or is it because it's the most popular area in the Middle East that got the eyes of everyone around the world?

Or maybe they watched too much of that Ronan Keating music video...

Monthly would be a good start!

We do have our own version, but it comes out annually. Unfortunately that means a lot of the info in it is out of date. They do at least review things properly - i.e. they say if something is bad!

There's no point having a weekly one as there isn't enough going on to justify it. One day though, one day.

Doha has it's fair share too.

When I was in Dubai I have to say I was quite jealous flicking through their Time Out events listings.

From what i hear , Dubai has a wide variety of "pros" :)

I know people do it all the time, but I don't think it's really fair to compare Doha and Dubai. Doha is like a small town while Dubai is a large city. Both have their pros and cons.

went there for a weekend and really didn't like it. Reminded me of New York city in that there were people everywhere, cars parked on the highways and no one spoke to anyone else. However..that being said, the clubs were fun!!

Grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked, the good fortune to run into the ones I do,and the eyesight to tell the difference.

Visited Dubai a couple of times.. Its great for a short break, but wouldn't want to live there.

Perhaps people with young children will enjoy, because there is so much to do..

Dubai is a lovley holiday destination and fun for a few days, but who would want to live in the world's biggest car park.

Most people I know who live there don't venture very far from their home, a trip to the airport from the Marina can easily take 3 hours.

Apart from hosing, it cheaper than Doha though.

I'll take Doha over Dubai, let's hope we don't go fully down that route.
