Yep, it is frightening isn't it? You've got the far left and right lanes of traffic trying to weave around the middle fool who insists upon going 60 when you've just clearly passed a round sign which had 100 encircled in red...

If you're reading this, and you're one of these people... please get over in the far right lane if you're going to drive below the speed limit like that. Slowly and peacefully is fine for you, since it appears you've noplace to be, but we're not all so lucky. Going slower than the speed limit in the middle lane is a worse traffic hazard than the person going 150 in the far lane, IMHO.

A woman got hit by a speeding car and got paralysed. As a result she got a compensation of 450K QR. Had she been killed her family would have gotten only 150K QR

Today in Gulf-Times a credit card forger has been sentenced for more than 25 years of incarceration and on the other hand a maid is killed by her employer and the killer gets a suspended sentence of 3 years.

Seriously what the Bloody FFFF is wrong with the legal system.

You take the right stance morally, although Mr Paul is right in that there are no fast or slow lanes only overtaking lanes. The only way you should find yourself in that situation is if you are yourself overtaking or turning left. A tail-gating car is very dangerous and if it's a choice between pulling into the middle lane or being rear ended I know which one I would prefer.

PS You should only be in left hand of middle lane as I said above or when in a queue. Mr Paul as given a far better explanation of lane discipline than I have. This discipline will cut out the slow middle lane hoggers as well.

And you have admitted you were doing 180 kph !! So how dare you critisize every one else for speeding !!! You have a tyre blow out at that speed and you will be history fella, is that what you want ??

The other lane(s) are for overtaking only !! You are supposed to pull back into the inside lane as soon as you have finished the overtaking maneovre.

Pity most of the clowns out here dont understand this, and then moan when they pull into the path of another car and have an accident !!

For your own safety - drive defensively. If they want to kill themselves then that's their look out. The problem is they may take someone else with them, just make sure it's not you. I know it's annoying but better to be safe then sorry. :)

To be more specific, I'm only talking about driving at 50km/h on a 3-lane road with speed limits of 80 and 100 km/h, such as C and D Ring Road respectively. That's what I call stupid driving!

"I always get great delight in seeing some idiot weaving across all 3 lanes at high speed only for me to beat them to lights by driving in the correct lane (and reading the traffic ahead of me) for the tuning I want. :)"

I was driving into Doha on Thursday doing 100k, the speed limit on that stretch of 3 lane road, absolutely no traffic on the road. I pulled into the middle lane to let traffic merge from slip roads on the right, AND still had cars roaring past undertaking when they had an open lane to overtake!!!!!

I agree you should drive to the speed in your particular lane and slow drivers in the wrong lane are a hazard. However undertaking is extremely dangerous. Thankfully it's punished by a large fine, a friend of mine was fined 6000QR for it (but it was negotiated down to 1000QR, go figure?)
