Human Creation in the Holy Quran

The whole process of creation is a beautiful and amazing journey. During the holy month of Ramadan, Katara has aimed at showing the creation process through the eyes of the Holy Book, Quran. This is their focus throughout the presentation:

‘Allah Almighty has created the human being upon the best of forms and with qualities and traits that set man apart from other creations to make him his successor on earth and enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil.

You will discover the wisdom of creating human through various events and activities presented by the Cultural Village Foundation Katara.’

Find your treasure competition

​Winning, adventure and fun in the "Find your treasure competition" at Katara.

Treasure hunt has always generated a feeling of excitement since our childhood. Katara brings the same euphoria by offering a chance of finding a hidden treasure every Thursday and Friday after the Tarawih prayers. Participate in the competition and you might find yourself to be the lucky winner of 2500 QAR. There is an actual map for the said treasure hunt that gives clues. There is new a map for each treasure hunt.

How will you know if you are the lucky winner? If you find the box, you can head over to the kiosk opposite building 15. There you will be informed if you won or not.

Registration is not required, just pick up a map and follow the path to participate in this exciting adventure.

Note: Katara staff and workers in its facilities are not allowed to participate in this competition.

Gondola trip

Enjoy a gondola trip with your family on the blue waters of Doha. A lot is on offer during the holy month, including the Gondola rides at Katara on these prices:

Katara Beach Football Championship, 6th Edition

​​Following up the Katara Beach Football Championship, this year brings its 6th edition at Katara beach football pitch. Al-Furjan committee for football tournaments in Aspire is launching the tournament, and in collaboration with Katara Beach officials they named their terms and conditions as well as the awards:

​Terms and Conditions:

  • Participants must be more than 17 years old. The championship is for Qataris, Gulf nationals, and expats.
  • The teams must bear the names of Qatari cities and suburbs.
  • Teams must have a uniform with numbers.
  • There should be 8 - 12 players in each team + three administrative assistants.
  • Five players in the pitch, the rest are substitutes and swapping is unlimited throughout the match.
  • The duration of the match is 30 minutes divided into halves; the break is 5 minutes inthe preliminary and quarter-finals stages.
  • Teams can register by May 29, 2016. Registration will close once 10 teams are registered.
  • QR 3000 to be paid as a bond and shall be returned once the championship is over provided rules and regulations haven’t been violated.
  • To register, you need a valid Qatari identification card and a passport size photo.​

Championship Awards:

  • The first position: A trophy + gold medals + QR 50.000 cash.
  • The second position: A trophy + silver medals + QR 40.000 cash.
  • The third position: A trophy + bronze medals + QR 20.000 cash.
  • The best player, goalkeeper and striker will get QR 5000 each​

Qatar museums authorities bring an integrated art experience throughout Qatar. These creative and artistic displays are not only limited for viewing inside museums, but placed strategically throughout Doha at aesthetically pleasing spots.

BY RICHARD SERRA Location: MIA Park Daily 24 hours; a powerful 20 meter sculpture facing the sea, made of seven steel plates.

GHANDI’S THREE MONEKYS BY SUBODH GUPTA Location: Katara Cultural Village; a bronze installation paying homage to Gandhi’s ‘see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil’.

 

Works from Mathaf Collection, Part 2

Mathaf museum is home to a multitude of brilliant Arab artists and brings their solo exhibition works to light. Get personal with arab art and insight by browsing the works at your leisure. This exhibition is ongoing till 1st September.

Sunset Kayaking - Potluck Iftar

The kayaking fun continues in the month of Ramadan. For kayaking and sunset paddling enthusiasts this is an opportunity to spend time in nature and shared experience in community. After sunset paddling sheltered in Al Thakhira mangroves, indulge in potluck Iftar sharing variety of foods brought by fellow kayakers.

Aspire Active Yoga Fest

On the International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2016, Aspire Active will hold a ladies only yoga event. Ladies are welcome to join after signing up for the event; ladies already members of the Aspire active do not need to register.

Freej Aspire

Freej Aspire brings a whole lot of entertainment for families and kids, including traditional activities, shopping and food outlets, kid’s sports, and live entertainment

Freej Kids Focuses on a host of games and sports for families and children, including volleyball, basketball, football, storytelling, henna stations, and more.

 

Ramadan Sports Festival

AZF is holding a sports festival focusing on staying fit and healthy for all ages. This year it has organized 13 sports competitions aiming for the same, encouraging children and adults of all ages to engage in healthy sports and activities during Ramadan.

 The specifics are as follows:

Male sports competitions include: basketball, 12 teams with 8 players per team for 5 days; football, 16 teams with 15 players per team for 8 days; volleyball, 8 teams with 9 players per team for 5 days; and beach soccer, 8 teams with 8 players per team for 5 days. 

 

The Foundation has also dedicated three days for tennis competitions for adult and young females, as well as a Junior Futsal Competition, and two tournaments for AZF staff in futsal for males and Fitness Challenge for females. The multipurpose hall in the Aspire Dome will also host a table tennis tournament in three categories for persons with special needs.
