O.k, Doha club members, where r u going after the club is closed? We got a message from the club saying that it will be closed by 20 Dec.I was really praying for a miracle to happen and that the closing thing would be just a silly rumor, well, obviously it is not..

So back to main question, to what club r u going dear former Doha club members?

It is really sad because Doha club was the only family friendly affordable club (in my humble opinion) in which u can c different nationalities (not particular one),

Do they have to close it to build a new one? I mean Doha has so much deserted areas, no need to ruin a club to build another one instead!!!!!!!!

I was not so much amazed by the cleanliness of oasis- but for me that was the only affordable solution -to dip myself int the sea .

I need ladies only place - and after the closure of both doha and oasis club I do not know any place for that .

I see the only solution to move to AbuDhabi .

there are wonderful beaches just for ladies . In Dubai there is public beach with wonderful clean water -and once a week ladies day .And the price ? You will laugh ...5 dirham .... a daily ticket .

In case we do not move .I am thinking about ritz spa . it is"only" 50 rial -and there is swimming pool as well.

But where to go if i just want to swim in the sea?

The Oasis Beach Club and the Oasis hotel are shortly to close and be pulled down. So don't get too attached. I hear they are going to close in January. What am I going to do....its the only non stuffy, easy going, cheap place in town.

hey doha fan,

The beach club is located at the Oasis hotel, close to Marriot hotel...it's not really a fancy place but it's cozy and warm and the hospitality there is so great...also food is really cheap yet clean and healthy.

They have a swimming pool for kids and another for adults, also they have their own beach plus gym, tennis courts, squash courts and sauna and jakouzi.

I don't think you would need more than these things,,,if you are looking for more then you can check out the marriot membership, they have great facilities but they charge Qr.5000/couple (not family)!!!!!!!

hey doha fan,

It seems no one here is a member at doha club but anyways...i would recommend the Beach Club..I'm not a memeber there but i have friends at the management and they i get invited there a lot.

It's mothing fancy but it's a cozy nice little place where you can just sit by the pool enjoy the warm sun and watch your kids play around you.

Food is nice and veryyyyyyyyyy cheap....

Good luck with your search and if you reach something better i hope you let me know.

Hi,

I've been a member of the Doha Club since moving to Qatar in Jan. However, we moved Al Khor last month. So we belong to the clubs out there that are in the compound.

Sorry I can't help you. Good luck!
