Discrimination against africans

Why do "you" citizens of other nationalities in qatar discriminate Africans, especially those of them who are not from a place like north Africa.
Almost every accomodations for rent and job posts are reserved for particular nationalities,in cases where African countries are often excluded. For example,a job post like this,is very common in many job advertisement sites:
Job Description
A furniture industry is looking for a HEALTH AND SAFETY COORDINATOR ( BURMA,NEPAL&SRI LANKA NATIONALS) to be employed urgently .
Interested candidates send CV to the email below.

It is absurd that on the 21st century people still practice what Africans experienced during aparteid in south Africa in the earlier years, this is not fair. We hardly get houses to live in because its always specially reserved for the philipinos, nepalis, indians, sri lankans e.t.c. when we are given houses to live in after much pleading, then we are made to pay house rents at very high rates, how do we get the cash when we are not even employed.

Africans are appealling to every land lords, care takers and employers who still believe that black human beigns are apes,to please stop the discrimination, we are geniunely humans like you all, because when cut open we also bleed red blood amidst the skin colour difference.
These cruel attitude towards Africans are more in practice by most nationalities from the asian part of the world. The Europeans and Americans are excluded in this inhumane practices meted out on Africans by these non-Qataris who abode in Qatar.
Any suggestions, disapproval & complains please reply to dis mail.

Sadly, this can be true. People come to Qatar thinking the streets are paved with gold and jobs are easy to come by. This is not the case.

Now that you know the truth, you should use your network to tell your felllow countrymen / Africans to be wary.

Good luck!

Residence permit(they pay for their RP;but before obtaining it from their mudee, they are made to sign their agreement forms which specifies that they are Paid salary and accomodated by their companies-QR1500-QR2000, No objection certificate(NOC)-QR100-QR150,Medical QR150-QR200 e.t.c. If I may ask, aren't these expenses meant to be bore by these Africans' sponsoring companies. This is just a summary of my findings, so you know.

I was informed by some individuals (victims),that they were made to pay for their visas which was meant to be sponsored by their companies. They pay huge amount of money to the companies that are supposed to sponsor their employees visa and travel costs into this country . Unfortunately these same assistants of companies go ahead to make promises of jobs and accomodations to them. But when these Africans arrive qatar, they only end up seeking for jobs and accomodations. These are a list of what Africans are made to pay for by some of their sponsors(note:not all) : Visa; ranging from QR 8500 to QR 12000 depending on a particular African country where they come from, the price differs,

Spybot:"now tell me how do u get to be in this country if you not employed?"

There is an African adage that says "whatever a man fails to know is greater than him". I recently carried out a secret research, to know exactly how some (majority of) Africans get to be in this country without a job,my findings were quite astonishing and at same time heart-breaking. Africans are mis-informed and misled into coming into this country unprepared by some so called asssistants of company sponsors commonly known as "mudee".

Learner77 have you ever thought about familiarizing yourself with cultures of diverse nationalities. We (including Asians and Africans) have all migrated from our different homelands in search of greener pastures. In that case you should be prepared to meet, socialise and integrate yourself with persons from other continents without making biased preferences on who to be comfortable living with or not. A particular race of people had been here earlier than others,so why not use your humble person as an instrument to help these later race of people(Africans) to gain their grounds by socialising with them.

Do u really believe it's because of the skin color?? The availability of jobs could be linked to the visa availability. If a company has got visa for a particular nationality, I don't think they can hire somebody else.

Yes, favoritism prevails everywhere, it has got nothing to do with the skin color.

When I look for an accomodation, I prefer an asian or to be more precise an Indian neighborhood itself. It's just because being comfortable with an environment which is familiar to me, definetly not because of any discrimination. Who are we to discriminate africans because of the skin color, when our skin color almost of the same color..

I think discrimination is everywhere not just to black people. If a company doesnt want to take you based on your skin color/country i suppose you wouldnt want it anyway. I honestly cant say i have faced discrimination in my life from all people i know and all countries i lived besides my home South Africa. pity parties are not nice...just saying.

the concept of former victims of an abomination/oppression turning into perpetrators of the very wrongdoing, and doing to others what once grieved them.

Personally, having faced discrimination and racism back from where I come from, I cannot imagine ever meting out the same mistreatment to another. But yes it happens around us often. And it is by far a terrible happening.

Isn't it horrible that despite all the advancements made in the world today, people still continue to wrong one another simply because they don't conform with their views, or because of the color of their skin?

Strange thing discrimination. Many moons ago, I went to work for a short period in South Africa.

The whites discriminated against the coloureds and blacks. The coloureds and black rightly complained abouyt this. YET, the Asians also discrminated against the blacks even after knowing how it felt.

To capit all , there was discrimination amongst the blacks - according to the tribes.

The world is indeed a strange place..

My sole purpose of posting this topic in this forum is to create an atmosphere of discussions through several comments where the "oppressor and oppressed" will air their mind to save africans from this discriminatory predicament, and settle their scores if there have ever been any.Africans need jobs and shelters to sustain life in this nation, as it is well known, shelter is a basic amenity crucial for the comfort of every human in everyday living.

That's strange, as the Asians face racial discrimination themselves...so, knowing what it feels like, why would they do it to others?

africansinqatar, i do not mean to say what you experienced is not true...I am just wondering.

I totally agree to this! There are a lot of people out there who does it. Also, this does not mean everyone out there is bad. it all runs in their head.. U know, the way they are brought up and the kind of racist thoughts they are injected as kids. It's very hard to get rid of such thoughts once its ingested!

But again, there are a LOT of nice people out there. So, ignore the bad ones, smile and move on :)
