Devils Swimming pool

Hope some of you will be aware of this..

In Zimbabwe, Africa, you will find the magnificent Victoria Falls, at a height of 128m.

The location is known as the "Devil's Swimming Pool".

During the months of September and December, people can swim as close as possible to the edge of the falls without falling over.

These falls are becoming well known amongst the
"radical tourist" industry, when more and more people search for the
ultimate experience.

Would you dare?

This is not so extreme as it is made out to be. The water is just waist deep during low flooding season, and the edge, is blocked by a rock edge. So the flow is not strong, and wont take you over the edge.

This is free, as you can jump into the river from any of the connecting resorts on the riverbank.

The extreme part is this..the river is the border of Zimbabwe and Zambia, with gorilla fighters on the Zambia side. if this isnt extreme enough...the river is full of hippos, which is the major cause of death for the local population, and if the hippo doesnt get you....the crockodiles surely will!!!

The beautifull part of the place is watching the waterfall which causes so much spray, it creates a rain forest close to the "pit" and the pit/pond is filled with lots of rainbows, as the sun reflects on the water.

Good place to visit and very cheap!

The guy holding the kid is a total moron. Why should he risk the helpless kid ? Let him have his enjoyment. Reminds me of Jackson dangling his child over the balcony.

I don't know how to attach a pic.

The Dunhinda Falls is one of Sri Lanka's most beautiful waterfalls located about 5 km off Badulla town. The waterfall, which is 210 feet high gets its name from the smoky dew drops spray, (Dun in sinhala means mist or smoke) which surrounds the area at the foot of the waterfall. The water fall is created by the river called Badulu Oya which goes through the Badulla town.

To reach the water fall you have to walk more than 1 km distance along a foot path. Along this foot path you can see another small waterfall at a distance. However walking along this muddy foot path is really worth as the waterfall is so beautiful. Along this foot path there are many native venders selling herbal drinks to refresh and rest yourself. At the end of the path there is a secure stage constructed for viewers to see the waterfall. If you are brave enough you can reach the foot of the waterfall and cross the river and see the most beautiful view of the fall.

They are probably on the side saying stupid tourist while counting the money.

Mighty funny how money can make you do stupid things. Why would I want to pay to have an experience of what it would be like to be at an edge of a waterfall without falling.

I can stand on the side and marvel at our creators wonderful creation and respect it and its dangers.

Nothing like a Doha round-a-bout on a Thursday night to get your heart pumping. I have to question the attendance of the kids though, somewhat like riding them on your lap here. It's not their fault you're stupid.
