I'm considering a opportunity to work in Qatar and they are offering the following, can anyone please advise as to whether its a good deal ?

Salary approx QAR250,000 per year
Accomodation allowance QAR125,000 per year
Car Allowance QAR 30,000 per year

I also enjoy playing golf, is the only 1 golf course in the whole of Qatar, no more in the pipeline ?

I'm single, no attachments therefore assume this must be a good deal !!!!!!!

If not I'm in deep trouble since I'm out there shortly !!!!!

There are two sand golf courses.

Messaieed and Dukhan. Of the two, I preferred Dukhan as it's not flat. Messaieed is obviously closer

you guys are confusing me. i've been reading this forum for the past couple months and i've seen people with max 20 to 25k per month and u tell them that its a great offer where they can enjoy the good life. i've never seen any one with a 30k+ so i would expect u to jump for this kind of figure, yet u tell him that its an ok offer but life is expensive and he has to pay for school. 30k is around USd 8k without tax, i think its a good offer. so lets see now what would u guys consider to be great offer ( monthly and all inclusive) meaning we get the cash and we rent whichever house we ... want to.

I always tell the truth, even when I lie

LOL I figured you must have mis-read his salary. However, it's still a good deal by all accounts, I think. Too lazy to do proper division.

I did not realise about the "per year" bit. I thought your figures were per month cos I'm quite used to people posting their monthly salaries and asking if its ok...and I was like WOW, you must be a big fish!!!

However your yearly figures sound ok, again if depends of your family requirements, but it sounds like you should have a comfortable living, anyhow.

The salary and benefits backage seems decent, you can have a decent lifestyle with that. Are you married? Children?? if you have children, you have to look at schooling which can be expensive here. So, if you have to pay that out of your salary, it's not such a deal. Even the housing is okay. You can get a two bedroom apartment for about that and they say the rents will drop in January after the Asian Games.

I think there is a second golf course...........a sand course!

hey ... mind you it is per annum. By the time you divided into permonth the housing allowance even hard to get 3 bed room independent villa.
