for anyone to be aware that proper breathing is not automatic or natural we need to read to be aware that it achieves the required effect in our body or be guided on it :)

My Yoga teacher used a unique method to teach me proper breathing. Lying flat on my yoga mat, he placed a small, light weight box on my abdomen. He then told me to breathe and watch the box until it rose and feel in perfect rhythm. It accomplised complete breaths.

OC - I am sure your intention is fair. But from my personal point of view these daily doses seem trite and indeed, cookie-cutter prescriptive.

It reminds me of the all the spam I receive from my (no doubt well-meaning) older rellies..."Send this on to 10 people you love and a hungry orphan in Afghanistan will receive water for a year" -type carp.

Not to say you shouldn't post it - knock yourself out - I am just commenting that sophomoric prattle does nothing for me. It's all a bit too much like proselytising for my taste.

I need knowledge, both broad and specific, about people and cultures and will and science and economics and politics and faith and aesthetics and technology and play...

I too totally agree with this comment of yours...my only question to you would be is anyone over here i mean QL ready to digest and read about serious stuff? no offence to anyone usually they come online here to talk of frivolous and trivial things. If my comments seem like a cereal box recipe than i need to change them maybe smaller and more too the point?!! my only intention was to bring in a small dose of awareness in todays world not of spirituality but global acceptance with pluses and minus. :)

ah but thank you for writing i do look at everything as what does this teach me :)

You're right, Moudir. Sorry for the outburst.

I guess I've seen a number of friends lose years of their lives to self-obsessed don't worry, be happy spirituality and it kind of got my back up.

Chacun a son gout.

It’s ok conragaz, there is no need to chastise her… It is a sort of copy and paste preaching, but there are a lot of other preachers on this site, you know. It will be interesting to see if it is sustainable… Let the free speech do its work… You know Doha is a small place (if she’s here), and a lot of people don’t know how to find relief, other than… by the bottle or the ladies of the nite…

I have to say, Oasis, I really don't understand these posts. I mean, I do of course understand them in the sense that I can comprehend the text. But they all seem too broadly prescriptive to be of individual benefit and even a little proscriptive in their tone. I'd even say that hey are vaguely libertarian.

I think there are a thousand ways to happiness and they don't all involve acquiescence to complexity. I, for example, do not need a cereal box recipe for enlightenment. I need knowledge, both broad and specific, about people and cultures and will and science and economics and politics and faith and aesthetics and technology and play...

I hope I don't sound harshly critical, but I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve by these messages.
