The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaves, The City cent

I would like to praise the staffs from the
establishment. Held Qatar Living Mums Coffee Morning with some of the ladies
from mum's group.

I am the first one who turned up (as usual I am always on time:-)) , paid
for my drink and when I want to sit down I saw a guy lighting his cigarette.
I told one of the waiter ... and I ask him if he is going to let him light
the cigarette in the cafe, then I will peel off all the non-smoking sign
around the cafe from the wall!!!!. The waiter said somethin in tagalog
to his colleague and then he said he will ask the customer to put off his
cigarette. And he did.

An hour later ... there were about 10 of us. With ofcourse some kids around.
Another guy 'innocently' sat on the next table and start lighting
his cigarette. I asked another waiter to ask him to put off his cigarette.
And the waiter did it, went there and told that smoker to put the cigarette
out, pointing out the non smoking sign. I am actually surprise with the
waiter attitude in Coffee Bean. Very impressive indeed .

I made the same complaint in Starbucks Villagio landmark and the staffs
there just shrugged their shoulder and asking me to filled up the comment/complaint
form. Yeah ... did that million times before.

If anyone of you out there involve in running this establishment ... pls
rewards your staffs for doing such a good work.

God knows what I have smoked in all these years. some stuff I dont even remember. Just remember getting up in the ER. All those highway styff didnt kill me so how will a little smoke from a cigarette will kill me. Anyways its a good thing that you are standing up for your right. Yeah kids should not inhale the secondary smoke. Lets pray that the remember their mother's crusade against the smokers and dont turn out to be smokers themselves

Its nice to hear that some shops actually care about customer service enough to enforce the law of the land.  For me with asthma its life threatening to be around smokers not just an inconvenience. We should all give these stores more business for doing the right thing.  Its shameful of people to break laws they know are in place what does that say about their manners?

It amazes me how quickly people light up in public places like that. Where i come from the whole idea of "no smoking" is that you actually don't, y'know, smoke. At all.

Nothing upsets me more than sitting down with a good cup of cofffee or a meal (or even in a cinema) and having some selfish so snd so light up. Kudos to you for having the courage to even ask the staff to sort it out!

First of all, my apology, for not coming, i said i will, but my tight time for alot of things to finish like, gone to immigration for my maids, visa, went to insurance to do the documents for my daughters car, had someone break her bumper at the college parking yesterday, then i had my meeting with HR , i will be working, so sorry, unbelievable but i was not able to join you since i really like to meet the Mums group and to introduce to your kids my only son who is 5 years old. I hope there would be next time and by that time , we can do it.

The no smoking sign should be followed strickly...good work Novita!

I'm glad to hear of a like-minded person, not afraid to speak up and right a wrong.    Maybe there is hope for this country after all.  Keep  it up and I will too.  Maybe if a few others join us as well people will get the idea and at least think twice before lighting up and ignoring their own laws.
