Clean Up for Charity!
As you may be aware, the South African Embassy has launched a Charity Drive on 25 April 2007
The main purpose of this drive is to lend a helping hand to underprivelaged South Africans children and their families by providing them with non-perishable items such as clothes, blankets, books, educational videos, toys, etc.
Donations will be sent to “Gift of the Givers”, a non-profit, non-governmental entity without any particular racial, cultural or religious affiliation at NO COST by a generous sponsor (GAC) and distributed to orphanages, old-age homes, shelters, etc.
So, if your house needs a good clean out (like mine!) and you don’t know where to go with whatever you are getting rid of, please consider the following drop-off points:
Mamoura Area (Daleen van Dyk) – 561 1529 (http://www.southafricansinqatar.netfirms.com/images/maps/daleen_mamoura.jpg)
Al Markhiya Compound Villa #32(Michaela Hana-Lessle) – 583 2762 (http://www.southafricansinqatar.netfirms.com/images/maps/michaela_markhi...)
West Bay Area, Saha 92, Villa # 7 (Lody Welgemoed) – 589 2366 (http://www.southafricansinqatar.netfirms.com/images/maps/welgemoed_map.jpg)
and of course at the South African Embassy itself
A few important things to keep in mind:
Drop offs can be made any time from now until 20 June 2007
The last day for contribution drop-offs is Wednesday, 20 June 2007
Please make sure that donations are in a good, usable condition (i.e. no broken toys, etc please)
2nd Hand goods will do. No one is expected to go out and buy new things to donate
Volunteers to help with the sorting and packing of the donations between 21 and 25 June, can contact Erna on 534 2840
Donations will be shipped to South Africa at the end of June
We urge you to find it in your heart (and in your schedule) to set aside a few things (or a lot) that can make a significant difference in the life of an underprivelelaged South AFrican child or family.
The South African Embassy, in collaboration with SASCOM, thank you sincerely for your support towards this good cause!
Thanks for the information.
regards
Paul
