
Circle of Sound performing at Souq Waqif tonight!

Winner of Songlines Magazine’s ‘Top of the World’ Award, Circle of Sound is a powerful collaboration between British musician Soumik Datta on the 19-stringed Sarod, and percussionist Bernhard Schimpelsberger. They have previously collaborated with Beyoncé, Akram Khan and Bill Bailey.

For an exclusive performance in Qatar, they are joined by a band of stunning musicians and a special guest singer: Fiona Bevan, one of UK’s finest rising stars. Hailed as the “vanguard of British Asian music” (BBC), their sound resonates with deep Indian ragas, urban beats, sparkling glockenspiels and a spirited rock attitude. Fiona Bevan’s stellar voice adds yet another dimension with her heartfelt lyrics and an angelic touch to this cutting edge sound.
Circle of Sound have played at major international festivals from Madrid to Sydney. With an ever growing musical vision, the band will launch their second album,“Anti Hero”, here in Qatar. The album features exciting collaborations with iconic musicians NitinSawhney and Anoushka Shankar, and this show in Doha will be the first stop onthe ‘Anti Hero’ international promotional tour.
