What goes around comes around...

150 years ago, It was cheap Chinese labour that built the American rail network...

Now, the Chinese are bidding for the first high-speed rail project in the United States.

This move was revealed at the High Speed Rail Asia conference in Hong Kong yesterday by Qian Guifeng, deputy director of the US Railway Project Working Group, the Ministry of Railways' unit promoting Chinese railway firms in the US.

If the consortium won the tender, they would design and build the track, supply the rolling stock and operate the line.

Interesting times - will they get the tender ?

Well they are hard workers and very organised - so they should be given a fair crack of the whip.

Chinese have a reputation for infrastructure. They have build a railway track with pressurised cabins in Tibet which is quiet a feat. They deserve  a fair chance.
