I am now here in Doha and residing in a nice villa provided by my employer in Mansoura. My friends and I are looking for shops where cellphone are cheap. Got any ideas? It will be appreciated.
Appreciate all your comments... Went on to Souq Najada, scary place it is! Too many male eyes for a little group of femmes roaming around just looking for a phone...
Now I'm setting my eyes on a very handy notebook, any suggestions?
Carrefuor Villagio?? no way! I won't buy any electronics there anymore, in my own experience..I bought an HP notebook as a gift for my sis during Carrefuor-V opening's promotion (PROMOTIONS!) at the rate of QR2,950. Surprisingly, I found it the next day at Hyperlulu on a regular sale of QR2,450.(Both items are exactly the same) Whew! QR500 difference on a promotion sale?
First of all it is not really worth looking around in all the souks. All you get in ALL shops is Nokia. There is cellphone souk, right in front of Souk Waquif. 30-40 stores. All of them sell... right, Nokia. In Carrefour you'll at least get a good selection of brands, as well some promotional prices. Go to the new Carrefour in Villagio, for some reason it tends to be cheaper than the one in City Centre, and better stocked.
Try also Souq Najada(market), but u have to be clever in dealing w/ them sometimes they cheat and they give u w/ the used one, But they're selling brand new cellphones. But really they're selling cheap price compared to other shops even some locals are also buying from there, it's a famous market for cellphones/mobiles. You must check the registry numbers of the cellphones and match it w/ the numbers in the warranty card. Just to make sure that it's brandnew. God bless!
