Calling all Geeks and Photographers
By Tigasin321 •
I have lost my camera (I can't even remember what brand it was and all I know is that it was expensive). I need a new camera and I need one fast. I have been told that the Olympus 850 mju would suit me as it is small and idiot proof.
Can anyone confirm that this is a good camera, where I can get one and approx how much they cost?
Thanks in advance
I can recommend Canon Ixus...small, easy to use, good quality
Doha, I'm coming! Ducks in Doha from 12th - 18th of May :)
As I said collect your information first and thne compare prices, never buy without being informed about what you are buying. Cameras are technical nowadays not like before - the box and the upside down thingy and you have your photo - I know becaue that is how I started out. lol lol
try this camera very soft...the brand : "LAMBUTIN".....
Buy Lumix FZ 50,
Carrefour apart from their crappy service is proberbly one of the best. My suggestion is to any onebuying tech gadgets is do your research first which is what your doing) Don't buy something just because everyone else has it,cause as soon as you do I can guarantee they will tell you they wish they had never bought it as there is something they don't like about it, buy and spend on what you feel best suits your needs.
That is really helpful. Do you suggest I go to Carrefour as Canarybird suggested?
Just call me Tigasin. That's what I'm talking about
As the are two different camera's. The mju series good but is only splash proof but still easy to use. But if your friends by their statement were impling that you have a tendency to drop things and go for a swim and forget that you left your camera in your pocket, then the olympus 850SW is one of the only ones (if not the only one) on the market that has this sort of damage covered. If they meant that your not really good with tech gadgets, if my 5 y.o. can use hers then I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out. I have only seen the 790SW & 795SW here which is basically the same the 850SW is just an updated version. The 790SW Retails around QR-/1,200 - QR-/2,300 depending on were you go and how much you want to be ripped off. DON'T go to virgin as I have found most products there retail for QR-/200 more than Carrefour even their Sony products.
Salam is also good for digital cameras. First floor, round to the right.
Most digital compacts from well known brands (canon, sony, olympus etc) are on similar level and fairly easy for a novice to use. The dpreview website mentioned above is a very good site to consult.
In my experience and as you and I are both not to smart, I would go for a camera you know and understand (if thats possible nowadays) they are quite simple if you are not taking photos professionally (even if you are) photo shop will support you in this.
Digital cameras are simple and easy to use, and depending on the size you want you can get them from very big to very small with a lot of functions on them.
The camera department in Carrefour is actully quite good as I wanted to buy on recently, they know what they are talking about, so even if you don't buy go there and get information you can always compare prices.
[img_assist|nid=102654|title=|desc=|link=none|align=center|width=|height=0]try the new aplpha
Go to Modern Home and check the price and then go to city centre and buy it I am sure it is QR 200 lesser there
Tigasin - A guy with your inteligence level should go for the Sony :)
Where do I find it? Is it easy to use? Remember i am not very smart and need something very simple.
Just call me Tigasin. That's what I'm talking about
go for the newest sony digital camera compact with 8mg pixel. just like novita has. its so good. right novita??
Mju 850 seems good. I'm using a Canon Powershot and I love it. So far no problems. before buying a camera I suggest you too read users' reviews
