When i feel the same .. lazy to take shower .. i do a good thing .. top up the bath tub .. taking my cup of tea with me and cigarettes and also the ash tray .. sleeping in the cold water (if it's hot) or in the warm water (when it's cold) it really relax me sooooo much .. after that u can take ur shower so easy and fast .. but don't fall asleep or u might sink .. lol ..
i knew someone would comwe up with this question. that's i y checked back this thread tonight. i went to sleep last night as soon as after i finished typing that post.. hehe.. anyway i am happy u people posted on it... i will b awake for sometime tonight..
I'm a bit worried about mufy!!! he started this thread about staying up late, then never said a word! did he fall asleep at his laptop? did he fall off his desk? did his puter blow up? did his mum make him go to bed?
as long as we all know the punchline you really don't need more than the first line of a joke ;)
There was a story about that. Some long term prisoners who only had one joke book between them. They all knew the jokes off by heart and in the end just used to call out the number of the joke in the book.
One would flick through the book, choose a joke and shout '46'!
And the others, knowing what joke 46 was, rolled about laughing.
A new guy was admitted to the prison and after a day or so got to know the joke book. He wanted to be liked, so he shouted: '46'!
No-one even smiled! '57!' still no reaction '36!' nothing
So eventually he asked another inmate what was the problem?
The other guy said 'You aren't telling them right'
You know I think that the joke was the couple weren't on speaking terms because of an argument and so he left a note and THAT was why she WROTE a note back. It was her revenge !!!! lolololol
Nothing like a good laugh to wake up to - tks RAM :D
for my husband to see in the morning, 'cos I doubt I shall be awake at 6 when he gets up :D"
This remind me with a joke .. "a man came late find his wife sleeping, so he sticked a note for her (please wake me up at 9) .. then he wake up 12 clock to find that she has sticked a note on the bed (honey wake up it's already 9)"
Hope that ur hubby didn't do this .. if my wife did this with me .. instead of being angry i would start my day with smile unless there is something urgent .. i will kill her .. lol
Actually i have work at early morning .. should wake up at 6 ..
but today after i quit work at 3 clock .. i came back home and took my lunch .. then decided to sleep from 5 to 8 ... but i was shocked when i woke up to find it's 12:30 am .. i went out a little bit .. just free roam .. and then i just came back .. i think i can't sleep .. and if i did i won't be able to wake up at 6 am .. hehehe
Cheers to all my fellow happy nocturnal creatures!
At work in the morning i kind of float around until i find my rhythm. My cappuccino is my little friend that sits beside me to get through the daylight hours...
Actually, my partner is a morning-person and he understands that mornings are not the time to call me up & say hello.
Lucky for me work often starts late in the day (jauntie - i do not understand ppl like u who can do all-nighters and then function the next day without sleep! how i wish i was like that......!)
It got to the stage once, (when I use to, and still do sometimes, get really carried away playing cards with THE WORLD in Yahoo, and chatting with everyone on line at the same time, that I was going to bed as my husband was getting up for work!
It's all them different time zones. Somewhere in the world it's always lunchtime!
It's like going to a pub straight from work for a 'quick one' then realising you haven't left and the next lot are arriving having been home first .. so you end up doing both shifts ;o)
In the early years it's like "yeah, cool", but as the years pile on I find that I'm more like "yeah, it's real, it's good, this is the way I am and I like it this way". Real good.
that in England I no longer know any people my age (or younger even) who still WANT to be up into the wee small hours. Well, I do, but they're usually the ones who phone at 4.00 a.m. thinking you are desperate to hear from them when they're worse for wear lol
Glad someone understands the sensation of liveliness the solitude of the night brings. Admittedly Doha isn't a place that allows you to take full advantage of it but still...
I don't think it's done me any harm, it's more a lifestyle lol
My mother always regretted that she made me turn my bedside light off when I was a kid, because I could have been doing something useful like reading! instead of just laying there staring into the dark until the rest of the household were fast asleep.
But more so in UK than here. Must be the lack of a liquor licence - I don't get my 'second wind' so much here on diet coke lol
Better keep an eye on me in about 10 days time in here! I shall be home and sitting next to a fully stocked cocktail cabinet!!!!
Seriously, though, I was always one to be up later than everyone else even going straight to work without sleep! and STILL functioning (so I thought anyway) on all cylinders

Actually I think by about 2.30 I was posting to and from myself :D
Glad you nipped that gurney thing in the bud this morning. Thanks.
I love to be up and online but know that if I do I'm going to be wasted the next day...
Pity I don't have a job that ends at 1pm so I can go take a nap in the afternoon *g*

happy shopping jauntie... :-)
.. but I did anyway, abut 30 mins ago at 6.00
Just having tea, toast and grapefruit juice after which I will decide if I really NEED to go to Villagio today. I think I should - cupboard is bare :D
i love to sleep late, but hard to do it with the school run in the next morning.
for my husband to see in the morning, 'cos I doubt I shall be awake at 6 when he gets up :D
I logged out, but then logged back! I thought I heard a dog howling outside, then I realised it was the 3 a.m. call to prayer (oops)
I was going to be up and out early to shop - I think it may be more like midday now ;o)
can i join u ..

lol No stamina these 18-25 year olds these days :D
I just got Bad to the Bone up on UTube
At first I thought he was about to sing 'Tobacco Road' - the intro seems identical! You know that song?
"Tobacco Road" is a song written and first recorded by John D. Loudermilk in 1960 that was a hit for The Nashville Teens in 1964."
Thorogood is bad to the bone, or so he says.
He's the alcoholics' hero with "I Drink Alone". Nice play on words in the song, though.
Of course John Lee Hooker was one of the pioneers with One Bourbon...
just hit google - lyrics read like he likes to sing about drinking !
The QL forums and threads are a real education for me. Tk goodness google doesn't charge! I'd be in their debt for hundreds by now :D
I'll have to get back into the swing of surfing Utube.
Being stocked up helps, jauntie.
Not to the extent that George Thorogood sings it but it helps.
It got to the stage once, (when I use to, and still do sometimes, get really carried away playing cards with THE WORLD in Yahoo, and chatting with everyone on line at the same time, that I was going to bed as my husband was getting up for work!

You either have it in you or you don't, jauntie.
In the early years it's like "yeah, cool", but as the years pile on I find that I'm more like "yeah, it's real, it's good, this is the way I am and I like it this way". Real good.

Spoken like a true believer, jauntie, on all counts.
You are right, it can be done, pulling all nighters and still functioning. Barely at times, admittedly. I wonder what the toll is, if any.
I think, because I hate to think I may miss anything! Not in QL, just anywhere I am!
But more so in UK than here. Must be the lack of a liquor licence - I don't get my 'second wind' so much here on diet coke lol

I'm just a night person. Best time of the 24 hours.
