Qatar gave place for US command center because Saudia Arabia took part of Qatar by force. Earlier there was a road from Sauda Nathil, Qatar to UAE but that road is now closed.

They do protect Qatar's O & G resources but not from terrorists as mentioned above.

There has been one instance of a bomb blast in Qatar, ONE.. Surely no scare of buildings, trains & buses being bombed so the US base is not protecting against any terrorist activity.

Oh and you want to know why that one bomb blast took place?

Someone wasn't happy with the invasion of Iraq by USA. I don't want to start on all the bullshyte about WMDs & Iraq again..

US forces are not doing anybody any favour by spending so much time in Qatar, it is a mutually beneficial relationship.

Calling me stupid or foolish or whatever won't change anything but you can keep trying.

If you have no clue or common sense regarding foriegn affairs you should simply not remark ...it makes you look foolish....what do you think the US and brits do in Qatar? I was taking a pic of a friend in a restaurant about a year ago, and when we went through the pics, there in the background was OBL's son and his lovely wife...

@Emc his wife was injured and one son killed. It might interest you to know that Omar Bin Laden the fourth son of Osama actually stays in Doha and is believed to be there now. He disowned his father years ago. His British wife is believed to in Qatar also. I feel for Omar this can't be easy on him.

Lol @ the conspiracy theories. He is dead. Already retaliation has begun on the Afghanistan border. Happy they are prepared for it. I dont see the US leaving Afghanistan high and dry after killing a terrorist leader provoking attacks on Afghanistan unless Afghanistan leaders ask the US too.

Just because the proof hasn't been released doesnt mean it doesnt exist. Its funny something positive happens and people are so quick to doubt...a rumor of something negative happens and everyone believes it even though its not true.

Nay sayers remember the US also helps protects your life in Qatar along side the Qatari army and the British. Just saying ...

I read that OBL was not the only one who died in this raid. His wife and one of his sons died too. What happened to their bodies? Were they buried at sea as well?

Yesterday morning, I listened to Al Jazeera. They said he was in a luxurious compound on top of some kind of hill. Last night, I watched the news and only saw some kind of very old baracks on flat land. I saw a very old room with 3rd grade furnitures around. Is this what is called luxurious? I am confused!!!

I feel that Kadafi's son death has got something to do with yesterday's news. Kind of diverting public attention. This world is so mysterious. I don't know what to believe anymore other than what I see with my own eyes.

Also

-more influence for India in Afghanistan..

The helicopter crashing has been talked about. It was known early this morning.

If we are to believe (and this is up to our perceptions) - neither the UK nor the Pakistani's knew this was going to kick off.

BS? Who knows - I happen to think that both the UK and Pakistan knew nothing of it; simply because the USA could not cope with a failure and they would only have let it be known it was going to kick off IF the USA needed help.

They got him - he is dead; let us hope and pray (I doubt it though) this is the end.

How come, Benazir bhutto said that Bin-Laden was dead in 2004, carried on by Former FBI Special Agent, in 2001 it was Confirmed that Bin-Laden is Suffering from Kidney Failure and he needs to get 2 times dialysis per week.

If Americans can show Saddam be taken out of the underground bunker where he was hiding, and then Shown having a Clinical Examination, later on Showed in the Trial Proceedings,

Why the Hell can't they show the Body of Bin-Laden, Every American Solider has a camera fixed on his Helmet, and CIA Chief Leon Penatta even watched it live in CIA head quarters at Langley Virginia.

well this may leads to some kind of controversal debate...

but if you take it from the their (American) angle, they have a right to celebrate, similarly we do incase of our Enemies !!

For me who has not seen any solid proof of OBL involment in 9/11, I cannot say if he was killed by US rightly or wrongly but this does not means he was an innocent man, as we all knows and there is no doubt that the Al Qaida have been involved in killings of many Muslims and Non Muslims manily in Afghanistan and Pakistan for vairous reasons including religious, political, tribal and other issues.

So I can seen the jubilant not only in the US or WEST but across the Mulim Countires....

I am sure once Bush or Blair dies, millions of people will celebrate their death too because of the blood of miliions of inncoent civlian mostly women and children they carries on his shoulders ...

Ironically Hitler died the same day as Bin Laden.

I have always been against AlQaeade ideologies, they did more harm to Muslims more so than to any others.

Muslims were labeled and tied to terrorists, been harassed and discriminated against by many racist and bigoted.

As am watching now in DC there are many people celebrating his death, chanting USA and other patriotic slogans.

Unfortunately, some in the Middle East, sees him as a martyr and as a brave man who stood against the US and refused to step down.

I have a doubt after the comment of Khattak. How old was Osama bin Laden? His moustache is still black in the pictures and video. As per the TV Channels Osama was killed in an airborn attack of bombing and shelling. There are lots of bruises on the face of the dead body and there were women also staying in that house. They suspect the death of Osama's son as well. Supposed to be a joint operation of CIA and ISI.

Lol smoke, "sarcastic" is my middle name.

I got Arien's sarcastic point. Yours didn't come across that way.

Maybe Arien can give you some pointers on getting sarcasm across in print :)

They have issued a photograph believed to be Osama's and captured his wives and children from the compound. That is the proof. I have no reason to doubt that he died in the recent raid.

By the way they destroyed Afghanistan completely because Afghans refused to turn over Osama to USA and he was eventually found 130 Miles from Afghanistan border in a town near the Pakistani capital Islamabad. Ah well, someone should tell entire Afghanistan population, Oops sorry, collateral damage. Sorry we destroyed your country looking for ONE man and he wasn't even in your country.

chocoholic perhaps you have not heard the term "being sarcastic"

If you would like to take some time and go through this thread again...paying close attention to what Arien has said and then see that i carelessly happened to join TWO events together to make a sarcastic remark about how my original statement of how this sudden "death of Osama" is fishy from the start may then things will make sense to you.

I told it earlier. It is an election stunt of Obama as he was losing his image in US.

Story (imagination):

Few American soldiers went to the compound where Osama was staying for the last one year or since August 2010. He was reading something, may be Quran and the soldiers took their weapons and Osama asked them who the hell are you. The soldiers shot him to death (it was that simple to kill a terrorist leader like Osama bin Laden)

Thank God...

At least this will stop killing the lives of all innocents in his bloody NAME.

Musharraf announced 100 times the Osama was dead at Tora bora shelling, NOW OBAMA announced his killings without any evidence but the whole world believed....so he will continue one more term as US President.

how wud have they killed him? a bomb attack? shot him with a rifle? either way, we all can assume laden was not in a state to move or walk due to his health conditions...if dey r so dedicated about fighting terrorism, dey cud have arrested him, bought in front of public and tried...i dont think this is a heroic victory for the americans...also even recently did america announced dat dey have no idea about bin laden or whether hez alive or not.....I strongly believe dis is another dirty drama played by americans just like the 911 attack...Bin laden must have died long back due to illness or old age...Pity on americans!!!

Gurgle with JD, WK, if you have a bad taste in your mouth. It helps. But governments around the world kill all the time, don't they? The world is ruled by a bunch of professional murderers! And the funny thing is that people still support and worship them. That's why I always said: this world can only be maintained if there are enough idiots in it.

LP I thought they will be embarrassed when they eventually kill Osama.

They killed over 10,000 people (Official figure, actual will be way more than that), Wasting billions and billions of dollars, wrecking a country so badly that it won't be able to stand on its own ever.

They are celebrating it as a victory and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Are they saying it was worth it to kill 10,000 innocent people to get to Osama?

Rough quote from one who lost a relative on 9/11-

Nothing Fishy. they killed him last week. His body was taken by the US forces.

End of a chapter and a great coup for Obama. whilst most of the world probably does not see it so, it is closure for many families who were victims of 9/11 and a major gain for the president who persevered in his chase.
