take up some good hobby... do something creative and useful with ur time,read good books or try to cook some new dishes for ur husband...do gardening... the list can be endless...lastly if everything bores u still....sit in front of ur pc and enjoy QL silently....lol

smoke, tennis is my favorit sport specialy at beach wow, i like walking but have no one to go with so now am gaining some weight lol, i like aerobics...

I got many invitations from my husband's friends but I never go to any of it except once but i didnt feel comfortable since then am nt going to any invitation.

Oh yeah dubs..the best chillout place in Qatar...heck it never gets boring there.

I've gone to friends places where we all cook one dish and then we sit and watch movies for hours! Simple things can be so much fun.

What sort of sports are you into? There are places you can go, bowling, tennis, badminton. You can go to friends place that have swimming pools, have house parties, catch a movie at the cinema..heck how can you get bored!!:P

emy, friends are treasure, they are not bed sheets which get ‘boring’ after some time . Get good friends, life will never be boring again, and if it gets they’re not worth :)

jjj75 makes the valid point. Thats the key...more friends and newer friends (same friends too become boring after a while...hope none of my buddies heard...:)). The same BBQ with friends would be fun than with two family members again and again.

Triple J is right...you need to expand your friend circle, i'm sure your husband's friends have wives you can hang out with.

I think the trick is to make friends if you can. Most activites here can be done to death in the first few weeks, leaving people thinking 'what else is there to do, I am bored with the few limited things that there are here which I have already tried'

If you have a varied circle of friends, you get invited places and change to meet other people and try different things.

You as an individual...what do you like to do..shopping, knitting, snorkeling, cooking, movies, dancing, bar hopping...etc etc?

I was responding based on what OP has said and a few other threads posted in last few days (dont ask me which ones, DIY). As for example, you knew a QLer quite closely who was single(again, dont ask me to name the person, we know him and I would expect in all humbleness and in keeping with the guidelines of QL or just mannerisms you also dont have to name him)...what do you think about him, was he having fun or not here.

I am bored at work, wanted to go to watch World cup T20 cricket matches lined up.

Climate is improving go for a long drive, put on cruise control and play pleasant favorite music....which one could spent a few hours late in the evenings.

emy007...why not for weekend...fly out on thursday evening and return on saturday night or sunday early morn....:) As for visa for Bahrain, if it is given to whoever wants to, you will get too...:)

Bahrain is near by to go by car but how to obtain visa?

Painther so true...we been to wakrah beach past midnight on a full moon day....…it was so beautiful and romantic....

If you have a hobby you should do something along those lines, go watch a movie, try all the big and small restaurants, if you dont drive go for driving classes..trust me sometimes just driving alone can be exciting. If all that fails then you can go dancing....gangnam style!!

Either change your friends or enlarge your friend circle.

BBQ at the beach is as good as it comes as nowhere can you dine and dance in this fine bored city.

emy007...you can always go to Dubai, Bahrain over the weekend or for a holiday for a change....:)

brit, i didnt say am nt happy or am nt enjoying been with my husband but am tired and bored to b at same place each time, I just need to travel somewhere as well, even in my country with my family i feel same time to time i travel to any other city in morocco but here where to travel and spend some days in qatar?which city? no where qatar is small and all places same each others.

You don't need to go to special places to enjoy each other's company..

Prism...I thought there are lots of places and events which families can enjoy during weekends here..which singles cannot do!! But nothing I can think of which sngles can do and families cannot do!!

FS... club/ bar can be only for the Thursday night, but that is not the start and end of weekend. It is much more than that, isnt it.

As for invitations, that wasn't addressed to you, so I don't think I should respond to that.

Prism...I am not a boy….so I have not done what boys do…but I do know single boys and know what they normally do on weekends...lol If you are talking about going to club/bar for few drinks is what social life means then being married is no bar for that...

Regarding formal/informal invitations.... I bet you will never accept an invitation from any of us….and we are discussing this nth time...so it’s not relevant...

smoke...how would I know...never been with people with families (for obvious reasons) other than joining them on a formal invite once in a blue moon (though none so far in Doha... 1 yr+ and counting). And then have no reason to not accept the later part of what you said as you would know better...:)

@FS...nothing very different, if you know what boys do when they are single...may be a rewind would bring back some memories, if you did had those times or know of those times....:) Saying more wouldnt be OK I guess...this is a family site, right.

Couple of things you may try...

a) Go to Um Saeed and rent a bike and do the duning. You can do the same if you have 4x4 car with you. Do not waste your money on less powered bikes ... anything above 125 CC would give you the real pleasure.

b) Book a duning tour with professional people

c) visit/explore film city & mistry city. Better to have a 4x4 for this as well.

d) hire a dow from corniche and visit banana island. 3 hour trip could cost you something between 600-750 QAR.

Go for long drive, try to visit Far beaches like Ghariya, Fuwairit .. without jellyfish.

how many person u r? Me and my wife and beautiful princess. I have lot of friends but instead staying in the house bonding with family, do washing the clothes and other household chores.

its better u take ur husband and cover most of the places like katara,pearl qatar , shopping etc. especially in the weakends ...lots of crowds, people ..make urself bc in watchin all these..

You can go to QAWS and be a volunteer to take of care of discarded pets (dogs or cats)...

Prism who says married folks are having a hard time here? Its just the newbies that need to settle down before they start having a good time. If they find the right group of people Qatar is not a boring place. :)
