Manama: A Kuwait blogger is being sued by a restaurant after he posted his view on a dinner experience there.

"A few days back I posted about Benihana opening up at the Avenues and last night I decided to pass by with Nat and try it out," Mark wrote on his blog.

"The service wasn’t too bad for a restaurant that’s just been open for a few days and the staff were really friendly...The problem with my experience last night though was with the food, it was disappointing to say the least," he blogged under "My Benihana Experience".

Is this common only to the ME? I doubt

deepb,

The fact that you, me and others cannot say what we think about it, is related to the answer of my question above.

A perpetual problem that feeds itself...

Hmmm and I was going to go to Benihana tonight...Guess not.

Nic, I have a few opinions on that point, but I think I'll keep that to myself ( don't want to end up being sued myself).

Democratic Kuwait (lol) on its best!

Unbelievable how little the entire MENA region has progressed politically. One must wonder what delayed this progress in this region versus the rest of the world?!

or maybe the resto was owned by someone so powerful in Kuwait

The food must be really crappy if they feel compelled to sue a blogger..

they could have just improve their service and the quality of food they're serving to customers instead of filing a lawsuit against the blogger

Read the blog ..

Don't see much wrong with it. It's someone relating an experience.

People have to learn to differentiate between real news and blogs.

I am disappointed that the restaurant feels the need to sue... However , as they say - any publicity is better than none :O)

Sour grapes, but how did they find out who he was and how to find him?

Pathetic! should this blog be learning experience for such establishment to improve their quality services? I think yes.

should blogger have the rights to criticize others based of personal experience? YES however beyond exaggeration is not tolerable but placing lawsuit? hmmm I rather improve my service reduce wasting time/effort and money than paying lawyers to suit my EGO.
