I have not at all mentioned anything about celebrating the 24 hours of His birth! Now I see why you got it all wrong! I understood you well when you said we could not worship Him, and I cannot but totally agree with you.
Some parents in my country call their newborn sons Abdulrasool, I categorically reject and do not believe in this name.
The Quran Said Mohammad is but a Messenger! when the nation mourned His death and His Companions cried and sobbed and many disbelieved He could die. He is a great Icon but not Allah.
Do you get my point now? we were talking the same, but my perspective was to always remember him never about worshiping Him or any other prophet. Are we in agreement now?
Just want to clear few more things here hope you will understand me.
Happy Happy sister I have no rights to insult anyone if you go back and google ( Orgin of birthday celebration ) you will get the answer
still we cannot rely on wiki or any site ask any faithful christians they will tell you.
Why dont we study Islam which is obligatory . If I have not seen my parents attending any islamic school I have rights to question them, my father will say oh my father practised it so do we take islam from our Grand parents. Have they met Prophet (saws) how did they know about this celebration . Did Ayesha RA celebrate Prophet (saws) birthday? or any of his wives or companions
We will spend years in studying electronics, medicine, why dont we just spend One year in studying ISLAM which is OBLIGATORY .
For voluntary studies we go to Worlds best Uni's, but for FARD studies we take it from our MAMA
Why dont we take vacation for ALLAH
Qatar is one of the best place for Islamic studies
As we all do.. Abu american.. May Allah forgive us InshAllah.
Darude.. I think celebrating the prophet is the same as christians celebrating the bday of jesus..
it leads to shirk! I.E. today we can find large LARGE groups of muslims worshipping Mohammad and saints and seeking intercession with them when their is nothing in the Quran or Sunnah to that the companions or the Prophets family did such a thing.
I think this was a wisdom from Allah and the best method is to show we love our Prophet PBUH by following his way! And sticking to the two Eids avoids all sorts of Fitnahs (that is afflicting the muslims today)..
So whoami.. you said that it doesn't cause harm.. but in fact it has caused tremendous harm in our ummah and Aqueedah of alot of people. Which is why I stick to the early generations so as to avoid confusion! And this is part of taqwa: To avoid what is halal for fear of future sinning by us or our children and their children.
Some people keep adhering to words without any clue about it's essence, therefore they’re only touching the physical not spiritual depth of it. This is why there’re thousands of zombie robotic Muslims, parroting words of Allah without comprehension.
If someone can, they should learn to celebrate the Quran and Prophets every single moment of their life. But that’s difficult of course. Proof??? is the whole of the Book! not just a quote from Surah or Hadith.
Just my opinion, I’m not looking for followers to rally around me nor craving advocacy. Your opinion is well respected as well but not convincing to me. In the end we are sharing the same land and skies….and QL too..). Salaam (May it prevail)
These are common threads used by bloggers (more specifically blog managers) to keep the blog busy and attractive. Victims are those who love their religion with lots of possesiveness.
for one thing u wana be rigid and for other u wana be with world..to flow with stream...tht is nt possible.
i dont need to give u proof for wat i belief...bc to me its enough tht i am satisfied with wat m doin and Alhumdulillah extremely blessd by Allah. so u do wat suits u... but dont make others gumrah...and i wil follow wat i believe.
the only thing wch U need to understand tht first thing in islam is to takecare others' rights and keep save others from yr tongue and hand...
so try to understand..do give yr feedback but dont hurt others beliefs and thots. bc wats actually "right" is only Allah will decide.
it should not be celebrated like ppl these days celebrate there Birthdays......and this same gulf times Q/A article i have read the Prophet Mohammed (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) instructed there companions to worship Allah as much as they can.
plus darude ...being nasty does not alwys help. but being reasonable does. so u carry on with yr work in office...we can pretty well deal with these things. I think we all are very sensible.
i am not fighting..its just tht no one should impose beliefs over other..if someone wants to do anything..well its every1 right......plus esp for such things we should not be dicussing over the forum.
or at least thn both rigid and flexible thots be thr. plus howcome on suc forums one can ask for proofs. live and let live..thts it.
Anyways i never meant to hurt any1 for tht..but we should be cautious bf metnioning anything abt religion...esp whn posting things on cross cultural sites.
Sorry ladies to be interrupting, but can you clear this for me...
everyone is pretty much independent to be living in this world, and everyone preaches their own religion in their own style...so why fight...
Eco...and Erma...come on we all know we dont want to get into a Cat Fight...so be good and take it easy, everyone has their own way of doing things, this is also the same...so either you be friends, or be friends with me...infact...the second option is the more logical one, forget the first...LOL...
I think Eco----u must have experienced reciting Durood?? why do u do it? just have a revie of Shi Bukhari...there is special blessings for doing it in majlis..(together)..
dont be illogical and referring to quaran and sunnah and islamic school...
tell me something do u use spoon while having yr supper?? why? do u sit on table for food? why ? quran deosnt say tht??
please be a muslim ...dont bring bad names by applying illogical reasoning. this Quran and books of snnah are guidleine..thn Allah has granted us thi Aqal. (senses) to understand and apply.
we need ppl who understand Allah and his way...we dont need muslims like u..who only make the picture of Islam worst in front of other. sorry for being rude...but such comments about our bautiful and realistic religion always make me very blunt.
Next to time you post something do it with QURAN and Hadith, we dont need Indian/paki/turkey/white house Islam here
We have never celebrated this birthday as my Indian cousins do it, they have never been to islamic schools, never knew who are Bukhari, muslim or abu dawood
I have posted GULF TIMES link earlier in this regard
Well, then get back to it...or naaa...carry on...you seem to be in a totally destructive philosophical mood today I dont want to get beaten up...LOL...
In Egypt, Prophet Mohammad's Moulid is a Public Holiday. Also there is special kind of very traditional dessert made for this occasion. Most of our homes are filled with it during that month.
So you are back already from your pretending meeting...now find our thread and get back on there...looks like you are killing a lot of people with this philosophy today...whats happening buddy...
My family does not only celebrate the day of Prophet Mohammed's birth, but feels the breeze of his blessed month starting Rabi. We do not light candles and have cakes, we do strengthen our remembrance of Allah.
I was always reminded, by my parents, as a little girl to celebrate in my heart the blessed months of Prophets, Including Prophet Eissa (Jesus, Peace on Him), to enrich my knowledge and keep me attached. A lot of reading and education were involved in this long learning process over the years.
As for Ramadan, my family celebrates its advent as of Ragab and onwards. In that same consistent manner, I was raised to know that Ramadan lasts for the whole year not only in a few religious days.
If someone calls this “innovation”, I would like to remain seen as an outsider to Islam. In the first place, no one outside my family knows anything about those spiritual rituals we are practicing. First and foremost I'm not asking anyone to follow the same path I am adhering to, and will never do. It just runs in the family…)
these two things are essence of islam. if ppl gather and remeber prophet (PBUH) and talk abt his sunnah and good things. wat so rong abt it? thy will spen few hours in good things rather doing other worldly affairs.
so please dont giove these kind of rigid futwah on this. ok? for every verse in Quram and Hadith...there thousands of definitions....and Inamal aamal-o-bin-niyaat....
so if the intention is rite...then its not bidat. i wish all this knowledge tht u gained thorugh ...would gone lil bit into yr brain and had given yr soul some lite. very close minded..blinde folded thinking..i must say....
why no public holiday to celebrate for HIS birthday?? thought this is muslim country? in my country, we have public holiday for this and other national days.. so fun.

This thread is only for greetings, please keep the extra comments outside.
It's always the small things that make big differences.

Sky I just do the printingstuff for QL.. If u call that work. But other than that
nah. I didnt start any topic specifically on islam, may be in ur view. I just
greeted everyone on this great occasion and in the last thread I asked if
there was anyone who shared my belief. But it seems like people are
shooting comments and opinions rather than answering a simple question.
First there was argument about my belief and now they are arguing about
Prophet Muhammad (saws). No wonder why muslims are not united.
It's always the small things that make big differences.
From Quran and Sunnah, I dont want any aqal biqal , amal, niyat / no sugar coating in Islam, We are not here to please anyone accept Allah.
Believers dont keep dinning tables in their homes neither they use forks or chopsticks
Then we should ride camels yeah yeah
thexonic are you working for QL.....
Do you often start subjects on ISLAM, whenver the blog is dull..
We hear ya girl, now do you want to cut the crap...I already told everyone has the right to do the same things differently...so take it easy...
Stop getting anoyyed and tell me whats for lunch...Zara thande dimaag lagaao yaar...
Now where is that Eco girl...Eco Savvy...wonder what that name means...anyways...where is she...having lunch already...
it should not be celebrated like ppl these days celebrate there Birthdays......and this same gulf times Q/A article i have read the Prophet Mohammed (sal-Allaahu `alayhe wa sallam) instructed there companions to worship Allah as much as they can.
every one is trying to impose THEIR SELF MADE BELIEFS on other.

Some celebrate it, some don't.
Some say we shouldn't celebrate it because the Prophet didn't.
Others, like myself, think we are free to celebrate it, if we want as there is no harm in that.
