Best Hospital in Doha?
I recently moved here and need to see an Oncologist for regular check ups and prescriptions after a bout with breast cancer 3 years ago, in remission now. My husband has full insurance. Are the private hospitals better than Hamad Hospital? Any opinions on the American Hospital since my initial treatment was in the US?

Al Amal is the name given to Cancer Building managed by Hamad. And Al Amal is the only place offering cancer treatment. Non of the private hospitals are equipped to handle cancer patients. Even if you go there they will eventually refer you to Hamad.

For mee the best hospital is Rumeillah because they have a special pavillon for Cancer.

Try Al Amal. It specializes in oncology. It is one of the hospitals being managed by HMC. I wish you well.
about it going to AMERICAN HOSPITAL. It's only a tag but nothing American in that hospital at all.

1. HAMAD MEDICAL CORP [The biggest Govt Hospital with all facilites]
2. Ahli Hospital

sorry to hear about your suffering, but i think hamad hospital should be the best.americal hospital may not have all the facilities. its a small setup.u could also check with al ahli hospital, its a new one set up and has lots of facilities.
i dont think it shud matter if u did your initial treatment in US, if you have your records and the hospital here has the facilities to cater to your needs, then it should be fine.
if getting an appointment in the morning is difficult just check if they have evening appointments at hamad for the oncology dept, cos then u can get an appointment with a specialist. getting an appointment usually takes time in hamad, but once you are in, then it just keeps rolling, no sweat.
