The weather was wonderful considering the afternoon temperature reaches around 47 degrees...and the stiff breeze calmed down to a gentle one by the BBQ time allowing for a wonderful outdoor experience in general

Yesterday at around 2.45PM 7 cars with 12 QLers raced down to Zikreet...the Sun was bearable and as I said the wind was stiff and at times one could feel the cross wind on your vehicle...

the 8th car with Edifis, who started at 4.pm, would arrive only after Sunset... and what a sunset it was ...so beautiful & so magnificent. The beach itself was very photogenic....

BnB, adobo is a Filipino food (best with rice) where you cook chicken/pork/beef/gizzard/liver, which ever combination you like, in garlic, soy sauce and vinegar.

Lv4u... Fuwairit is as far as Zekreet. Its around 75-80Kms from Doha. Al-Khor beach is not that happening...not even sandy.

well...jack i suggest,,,that choose the Fuwairat beach or Al Khor Beach,,,they are not that much far as Zikreet is...and no need 4x4 for those beaches,,,!!

that means we will have to settle at Zeekreet...

Direction: (As given by Saeedkan below):

To get there from Doha take the main Dukhan road. At the sign (about 30-45 minutes away), turn right along the tarmac road to the tiny village of Bir Zekreet, go past the town and take a left after the old mosque minaret. Although the road ends here, there is a well defined track heading north. Drive along the water for a bit, slowly because of the rocks (15-20 mins) until you hit the sandy areas then pick your spot. The camping spots get better the futher you venture.

I want everybody to be involved in the "BBQ" while paying money ...is easy... but only one or two guys have do do all the hard work and rest relax....not good ... another easiest way would be to get ready made and better made grill items from restaurants and eat it there (no need for coal, grill, skewers, etc)... but no fun... lol

another thing is that some people like wings, some like breast or thighs ;), some like lamb, some like chicken, some like sausages, some like burgers, some like paneer etc... so whatever one wants one can bring it and then get it grilled at the venue...

for the Veg couple we will keep separate grill.

that is my take... lets see how everybody feels...

If you are just going to the beach in Zikreet then you don't really need a 4X4. Went there today in a sedan and we drove right up to the water.
