Avatar - An unintentionally funny movie

I came across this Avatar movie review & I found it quite funny. I wanted to share this with you guys.
It goes like :
"Alright, before we get into this, I would like to state on the record that when I say ‘Avatar’ is a “must-watch” movie, I mean it in the sincerest, least sarcastic & Vigil Idioty sense of the term. In all honesty, if you haven’t seen this movie in 3D, you’ve missed out on something really special.
Having said that, while the movie does offer a ginormously awesome visual spectacle, the story isn’t exactly what you’d call 300 million dollars worthy. Yes, that statement has been sugar-coated to levels I thought were beyond me."
Read the complete one :
whyte, to each his own but I like both Titanic & Avatar. Somewhere these movies capture raw emotions amongst a slew of special effects. It takes guts to devote as many as 12 years & so much effort for a single movie. Cameron deserves it.
Cameron has talked about making a trio-logy but I am not sure if he has shot them already. I have read somewhere that Peter Jackson shot The LOTR trio-logy in one go. Hats off to him. Cameron wants to play it safe which is alright.
I loved Titanic texas, I just didn't like anything about Avatar. But the money is pouring in so job well done for the producers.

LOL Blue who corrected that pocahonta proof?
The story is weak, but it has all the "feel good" factors we want in a wishy-washy movie.
The main thing is the hype and ofcourse the novelty value of 3-D...
Well done Cameron.... Turned a sow's ear into a silk purse - full of money.
Its amazing the way people bitch about such movies after they see them (including me). Same thing happened with Titanic.
jackmohan, I agree 100%, and no need for 3d imax...
bleu...Project 880 has substance...they should have stuck to the script....it could have been a much better 3 part movie...like the lord of the rings...etc.
Who cares ...the effects got them the money....more of such madness will continue...
Wait ..they were going to gas them out..."that would be less painfull"...the guy said....maybe in a hurry to do a preemptive strike...they forgot!
And Why why why..did they have to get in a Hero who's brother died at short notice...and he had to be a replacement...
matching the DNA blah...blah..blah...they could have taken him as a rookie or a trainee...couldn't they?
Glass monitors ...anybody? I thought they were going to eliminate glass and use "wrap as you would" flexible screens...in the near future .....
They even used tilt rotor crafts like V-22 which were rolled out already in year 1988:
whyte, jackmohan, it's all explained in the orginal Project 880... then they cut out most of the movie to give us avatar (it would have been a 9-hour 3-part movie)
They did a lot of high level 3D detailing....and almost true to life modeling of 3D characters...."Christmas Lighting" effects...etc.
But the things I didnt like was the complicated story....and "unobtain-nium"!!! What a funny name....I almost said WHAT? in the theater...lol.
Also the Military hardware was completely out of sync with the "progress in science" & "control with mind" kind of thing.
They even seem to have shot 2 movies using the same locations & Sets....thus Aavatar2 is also expected.
Looks like its the trend with big budget films ....shoot 2 movies then release one by one. Why only 2 anybody care to make 10 in one go?..lol
The best comment had to be regarding the dumba**es who mastered travelling at the speed of light but didn't use missiles to attack the natives.. lol...

visually awesome, i could even watched it without characters or dialogue, or even story line, not big a difference.
Yalla!
good one blue :)
whyteknight, you should check out his reviews on some bollywood movies as well. I would say they are better than movies :)
I thought it was an incredibly boring and predictable movie. Leave out the special effects and it was the age old story line.
As for this review, really good one :)
