Hmmmm, that was the question when I lived in Japan.  Western women were screwed as Japanese men found them physically attractive, but in a weird way based on japanese porn, but were generally turned off by their personalities, found them intimidating.  Many Japanese women found Western men to be physically exotic.

Dunno, having dated Filipinas in the past I've always found them comfortable, none of this docile, subservient shit that the stereotypes would have you believe, but interesting and intelligent, but feminine.  Though as a Western man I'm always aware of the passport hunters....

Well most things are aren't they? Lets just think about it. First comes sexual attraction, then friendship and love. The first part can come with any race and nationality. Friendship to some extent depends on shared values. Love, well who knows where that comes from?

For western men, filipinas are attractive because they are different enough to be exotic but they come from a country that is 'western' although it is in Asia. They speak good English, like the same movies, music and TV shows and share a similar culture.

So if a western guy meets a filipina girl who is good looking, great company ans shares similar values it is not surprising that love often blooms. 

Very good answer...I worked with many philipino guys and they are all hardworking and intelligent. They are all married from the same nationality and living happily.  All the ladies are good home makers and take good care of children….. maybe that’s one of the main reasons for Whites to prefer them.

... okay!  Now, let's go back to stereotyping men and women.

And just a thought, branding genders has been a long time favorite for most of us.  But we may not realize that, certain situations do change the role each gender play.  Some that characteristics i used to know about women are somehow diminishing.  As an example,

I noticed a growing number of Men (well, most filipinos i know)... actually,

... do the laundry

... clean the house

... wash dishes

... iron the clothes

... cook food

and women tend to do anythingelse less and less. (let's not go to that gender roles now).

Well, going back to the topic.  In some cases, I noticed that white people prefer Filipinas for there are still many "wife-material" filipinas...

what do i mean by that...  Well, filipinas can be a great cook... ranging from continental breakfasts to feast of a variety of meals.  Filipinas can cook!

Filipinas tend to overdo cleanliness especially inside the house, and this usually makes a house of a white guy sparkle.  Filipinas tend to have OCD.

Positively, i can say Filipinas are hardworking, and they value cleanliness..  Which actually may cause them to prefer white skin rather than brown. :-)

Well, i can think of more, but i don't want to spend hours talking about filipinas getting westerners.  all i know is that just they can be great assets in a family, and they can be great moms that children can look up to.

Well, about us Men, some of us may be idiots and some may be brilliant, and for all i know... someone like me...do housework more than my filipina wife...

:-) i know of a filipino who married a westerner lady.  i guess he proved to be very valuable inside the house, eh?

it is possible that filipinos can be hot husbands.  me for instance, i will do everything to please my lady.

Put all those other issues aside, i.e. race, money, religion, etc.

I think the main thing that people need to focus on is how men and women can understand each other, now that something people should look into not all those silly things mentioned above...and by people, I mean everyone regardless where we are from. Because even if a couple is of the same origin, it will and it will come to a point where the conflict of communication will arise.

Yes, we earn a lot compared to what we could earn back home, but like we earn in Riyals (here in Qatar) we also spend in riyals :-/

i have relatives who opted to marry other nationalities but often than not, their marriages collapse not only because of cultural and/or communication barrier but of the people around them saying that the other is after one's money.

many of those who migrated and choose to change their nationality only wish they did not do it in the first place, as they only find it that the so called western dreams or american dreams are just a myth.

but as i stated before, if QL are upset of racist then why do some members do stereotype certain race. in my own opinion this is another way of racial discrimination of another race. 

the fact is we are living in a free world and choosing your partner/wife/husband is your own freewill.

a number of people here in QL are upset about racial discrimination and yet they do stereotype certain race.

migrating to the west coz' on the western dream or american dream for a better life, well excuse me for not being a believer of this. because it is a fact that many asians who migrated are only dreaming of coming back to their own birthplace, and those who stayed have a better life than those who left.

Don't under estimate Asian Men especially Filipinos. There are lots of Filipino professionals who married to Filipino and they are happily married. So whatever it is everyone has his own choice. Be careful before posting your thread.

It has more and ONLY to do with economics than anything else. Some of the reasons are

1) Westerners earn more b'cos of their currency value w.r.t US$.

2) There are better chances of relocating to western countries than relocating back to their own or to India / Pakistan / Sri Lanka / Africa.. Least of all to Afganistan / Sudan / Yemen etc.

I do not see this as behaviour problem of Asians but purely of a better life and better spending power.

FYI! I may not have a 6 figure salary but I do earn an honest living that supports my family and kids back home. I may not be having a lot of moolah in my wallet but never did I rely on some man's paycheck to live...thank you!!!

one of the reasons why pinays engage to this relationship because we are in a foreign land. not only to westerners but to arabs as well. as far as interaction is concern we see these people at about 80% of our Doha life. so its pretty normal to fall in love and get involve....

My dog was brown. What I used to like the best of my dog was his athletic abilities and his family loyalty, specially the respect he had for all.  Very obedient to all the commands he mastered and learned during his young days while participating during dog behavior training.    The excellent traits and characteristics of a guardian dog was no match to any regular dog. I used to tell my friends and relatives to call us first or knock in the door and waited for anyone of us to respond before entering, because he will be sitting down in front of the door waiting.  Some of my relatives had a big surprised when entering my house and they met a 135 pound dog looking at them straight in the eye in front of my door.   He just will follow you, smell you and stare you down like he was the armed guard of the house. One time he bit the hell of this thug from my neighborhood, the thieve force his entry through the double garage door and busted the kitchen door with a sledge hammer. This happen while I was at work.  My neighbor was instructed to call me at work by the medics and police. My home insurance paid for all the damages to my property.  I did visit the thug at the hospital.  It was funny what he replied to me" What kind of LION", do you have in your house that will jump at me, did not even Growl OR bark a, All I saw was something jump me and Drag my arm out of my shoulder sockets to the ground and won't let go of me, I'm already on pain and hurting from his biting and grip, I will kill that Dog If I was you!I told him you are lucky that he did not got a hold of your "Parts or your neck|" that could be worst.  He is not a "Lion" his name is "Charmer"and a Doberman pincher dog.He lost his case in civil court after 3 months, he end up paying for his medical bills and my insurance company.Plus he had to serve one year of community service with  parole conditions for exchange of a 6 year sentence in State jail.

i used to feed my doberman dry food and at the same time was served a home cook meal like any one else in the house. He was not picky, neither got sick, except he used to grab his food plate and throw it around when he was hungry.  He lasted 15 years, it is not common for that kind of dog breed to last that long.

I don't think there's a specific answer to that. I think people notice the race when it's very obvious to see the difference in color and size of the eyes. I think it's unfair to impose that question on us asians when you don't on the rest of the world. If that is such a big deal then you should also question an american with a mexican, a brit with an arab (a qatari nontheless), danish with a mongolian  ~lol

It doesn't bother me seeing a good looking couple regardless of which part of the world they both are from but they have to look good together...I must say I am a bit cynical when I see a not so good looking one, the odd types, but I wouldn't make a big fuzz out of it...ok, maybe just a little bit.

Inter racial relationships are a good thing. They produce pretty children (my cousins are mixed race black and white, she's a model and he makes Denzel Washington look ugly) and they promote better understanding.

Idont know about other ladies, but from my own experience, after I've been with western men I dont go for Indonesian man anymore. western man can give me total packages that I need for my future and the important issues  is that we are clicked straight-away in terms of intelectual, hobbies, interests and sex life. so why not western men???
