YEah, that's a point, have a credit card.  When I came in as a tourist a few times before I moved here I never had a credit card and paying cash just took forever.  As for the visa, the rules elude me, I have received 7 day, and one month visas, but never a clear explanation for the difference.

the fact is she has a british passport so she will have no probs.(unless its a fake passport). it will cost her QR-/ 100 for a 1 month visit visa (not sure if they are still doing the 14 day visa anymore) she will need a credit card to pay for this at immigration counter or just of to one side you can obtain a debit card for Qr-/ 20 (card)+ Qr-/ 100 (visa) (she can pay in pounds sterling they will do the exchange rate) from QNB please inform her of this as this is the only way they will accept payment at immigration.

cheers hope your friend enjoys her time here.

She's British.  They pay the same fee at the airport as others and get the 7 day tourist visa after paying the fee.  Just have a hotel name.  No problemo.

I know 'Brits' can just turn up but this girl is from SA with an Irish Visa, so at a guess she is traveling on a SA passport not a British one; if that is the case I am pretty sure needs a visa in advance...check with the SA Embassy.

hi there

I'm a british citizen, and brits can just turn up and pay the $30 dollars (or however much) to get a visa. The only concern they may have is the reason for her visit as a single female. If she gives the name of a female friend and confirms that she's staying with a female, or at a hotel, she should be fine.

theres no reason she would have any trouble, unless there is something particular about her situation. (i dont know how difficult it is to get a visa on a UK passport..)

cheers
