Are you cruel to your baby ?
Are you causing undue stress to your offspring ? Or is this just mumbo-jumbo ??
Mothers who carry their babies facing forwards are cruel and selfish, according to a leading child health expert.
She said the same accusations could be applied to those who take babies out in pushchairs which face away from the parent.
Cathrine Fowler, a professor of child and family health nursing, claimed youngsters are frightened if they are carried in a sling or pushed in a pram looking away from their parents.
‘In not considering our baby’s perspective, we are inadvertently quite cruel to children’
But they have stirred up controversy, with critics insisting babies actually get bored if they face their mother all the time.
Midwife Robin Barker, the author of a book called Baby Love, said that as long as babies are loved and fed, the direction they face when in a pushchair is irrelevant.
‘Parents have enough to worry and feel guilty about without considering which way they push their child in a stroller,’ she said.

this is a load of rubbish. a lot of babies are actually quite happy in their strollers facing away from their parents. i rarely see babies crying when they are being pushed. they usually cry when the stroller comes to a hault because they like the movenment when the stroller is moving.so what will wackos come up with next? keep your baby on the steering wheel while driving so they can see you.
yup.. i agree to midwife Robin barker .. sometimes babies enjoyed being carried fronting away from the parents i think its part of their exploration as babies.. cause they see a lot of other things if they face that way.. biut as parents we should be sensitive to our babbies freelings like if they are scared or is crying we should hug them (facing each other) ..
i think... as a parents, they are able to sense if their baby/children are 'frightened', 'bored' or 'terrified'... and then will get their baby comfortable..
so, i agreed to Midwife Robin Barker theory...
but anyway from my experience, i'm more comfortable to face my children while carryying/using pushchair..
