Are You Adding Quality???
Read this and it almost made me laugh, its so true about most everyone!! Hopefully we will ALL take notice and live accordingly...
A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired. During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups -porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate.
When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said:
"Notice that all the nice looking, expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each others cups.
Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate we have.
The happiest people don't have the best of everything. They just make the best of everything that they have.
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. And enjoy your hot chocolate.
and by the way it IS true.. some drinks meant to be drunk from the cup/mug of certain material, otherwise they just don't taste the same.. it's proved...
btw, did anyone try to drink the tea not straight from the cup , but from this small dish which comes with the cup? You make your tea in the cup, then you poor tea into this small dish and drink it from the dish.. it has absolutely different taste! it is soo much more yummy...

Whatever Makes You Happy...
Everyone in my family (my Dad, Mom, sister and I) used to have his/her own mug for the coffee/tea. My Dad always had a tea in this nice glass standing in this silver glass-holder (how do you call this device?), no one was allowed even to touch the glass and specially the glass-holder..My Mom always drank her tea from the fragile cute cup with the gold border around…I had my fanky mug for my coffee( I am not a tea drinker)..lol… it was nice warm beautiful cozy time…
yeah.. I agree, "sometimes by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate we have".
but.. The cup you have (job, money, etc.) DOES define, and DOES change the quality of life you have.. fortunately or otherwise.. but it does..

why is it like that...you are making the same hot chocolate on your own mug, but somehow when you make the same hot chocolate using other's mug it doesn't taste the same...hmmmm, is it just only in my mind or... any psychoanalysis? :P

I definitely know what you mean...something about stealing their mug...Used to do that with dad's when he was around but would wash it for him to use when he got up in the morning.
Good morning owen, canary and jass...hope your day is off to a fine and beautiful start!! sun is out, no sand storm, and lovely weather...
that is really sweet!
My husband has his special mug, but he lets me steal it! So when I use it, it makes it all the better :D

You are right you make your own quality of life and no money can replace that

in one of my many mismatched coffee mugs...I collect them from everywhere so none of them match.
Reminds me...my dad always used to drink his coffee from a certain mug my sister and I gave him for Father's Day..it said, Keep your hands off Dad's mug. when he passed away 6 years ago, I adopted it and won't drink coffee out of any other mug when I go to mom's house. Ahh geez..I sure do miss him!!!
hmm, now I really want hot chocolate :/
