Please help!! Internet connection not working on my PC for the last few days. Error comes "limited or no connectivity". I'm using DLink router & when I tried to reinstall the device, the following warning comes:
"Modem not detected! Please check the following:
1-power adapter is connected to your modem & an electrical outlet.
2-your modem's ethernet cable is properly connected to your computer
3-network card is properly installed in your computer"
1st 2 are ok, how can I check my network card?
Internet works fine on my laptop. Called QTel, they couldn't help me since I'm not using their device
just go to controle panel -> modem & internter connection -> diagnotsitcs-> query modem.
If you didnot installed your modem driver you will see modem failure message. then u install modem driver and try to connect internet again
I had a similar problem a couple of weeks back. How I resolved it: Basically as "fan_ni_sarap" says, go into your router config and restore default settings. Save and reboot and voila, it worked again!
Did you Google it first?
I really don't know what they did, but it took only 5 minutes & they didn't take any money...shocking to find such nice computer technicians.

@ tallg, "limited or no connectivity" relates to the network connection ..it can be wireless adapter or wire (Ethernet) adapter.
@ SurfaLot, fixing it should'nt take more than 10 minutes, hope u get ur Pc soon.
I gave up & send my computer for fixing this evening..let's see what they come up with

Thinking about it, doesn't "limited or no connectivity" relate to wireless adapter, rather than LAN?
Ur network card is fine, if it does'nt work..it will not show u the message "limited or no connectivity"
Plug the Dlink device , press the reset button , then insert the cd into ur PC and configure it with the appropriate settings.
So your PC is connected to your router which is connected to the modem?
And if you swap the PC for your laptop it works ok?
So to check your network card in the PC, right click on 'My Computer' and select properties, select Hardware then Device Manager.
Under Network Adapters see if there's an issue with the network card.

Well its not connected wirelessly, there is a phone line connected between the CPU & router. I removed the line & connected on the laptop
& junarc, repair doesn't work, gave an error...something like can't change/access IP address

right click the icon for the internet connection.. then go for repair.. it will do the trick..
So the internet works if you plug your laptop directly into the modem?
But not if you connect the DLink router to the modem and try to connect wirelessly?
