Alcohol & gas sniffing rampent?

A gross exaggeration by the Daily Mail or the ugly truth?

http://www.dailymail...rile-lives.html

School finishes for the weekend at just after midday on Thursday. Every week, within hours, the teenagers are too drunk to walk.’

Take Ben’s description of a typical summer weekend, which he delivers with the casual nonchalance of the seasoned drinker.
‘In the summer, it gets too hot and we can’t go out, so drinking is the only way to let off steam,’ he says.
‘The sessions are usually wild and very messy. It’s part of the expat culture out here.
‘We’ve all grown up watching our parents do it, so maybe it’s only natural we do it too. We have some beers first, but then we hit the vodka.
'That’s when the serious drinking starts. Most of us end up passing out or in bed with a girl. It’s just what happens.’
Even the consequences of being caught do not seem to act as a deterrent. Anyone caught consuming alcohol in public, particularly under the legal age, can be subject to prison, corporal punishment and deportation.
The answer, for the recklessly determined (and they seem to be in the majority) is to drink in private, particularly if they are underage — either at their parents’ homes or in one of the many unoccupied, easily accessible apartments in the city and its suburbs.

Not sure why it's not working. They are taking place in Dubai. If you follow Brit Expats link he already posted this story.

Thank you for confirming this, 2020. Yes the link didn't work for me either. And the same question I'd like to ask to Miss Mimi, since it appears that she is the only one who could read this piece from its original source.

Where were these activities taking place?

Can't say I ever remember seeing my parents huff gas. It's exaggerated bull****. What does the Mail expect when they interview teenagers?

Miss Mimi, they had cleared their position .....

''...‘We’ve all grown up watching our parents do it, so maybe it’s only natural we do it too. We have some beers first, but then we hit the vodka.''

So any thing for their parents ?

Sorry Brit! Should have known you'd beat me to this one.

In my opinion it's a bit exaggerated as well.

LOL UK. We used to drink in the woods (which there was plenty of around our house!) in the freezing cold!

Fook why did I not think of this when I was a teenager

We used to spend too much time in the parks and on the Rail tracks doing funny things. Well then we couldn't get our hands on any booze anyway!
