Al Hamour Area

Arabella
By Arabella

Good evening all....

Some advice please!

We are househunting at the moment and are looking for some information on the Al Hamour area.

How long is the drive into town in rush hour?
Does the area have a good reputation?
Any compounds to avoid?

We had originally hoped for something in West Bay but waiting lists are proving prohibative. Any other suggestions?

Any information greatly received.

Many thanks for any help

This area is developing into a huge residential area with villas coming up in every nook and corner. It may take you more time to drive in to the doha in the evenings say between 5 pm and 8 pm. Also it depends on where exactly you want to go in doha.

I think you mean the Abu Hamour area.

Email me and I'll send you a pdf map of the area if you like.

Doha is expanding outwards like most cities with dozens of compounds springing up everywhere. It's hard to say without visiting a particular compound.

I think Abu Hamour is a bit out of the way but having said that I know many people who live farther out.

Depending on where you want to go you should factor about 30-45 minutes during rush hour.

Also, Abu Hamour is home to Doha's main graveyard. I hesitated to say that but I guess you should know. It is not, however, visible from any compound or the main road.

A church is also being built in the area.
