Grieving Man carries Wife's Body for Miles

A grieving man in India carried his wife’s body for miles after the hospital where she died allegedly failed to provide a way to transport the body back to their village.

With no money to hire a vehicle, Dana Manjhi walked 10 kilometers on foot in the hot and humid summer temperatures carrying his wife’s body over his shoulders. His 12-year old weeping daughter accompanied him.

Manjhi and his daughter were still some 50 kilometers away from their village when some passersby and locals spotted them. They informed a television channel. An Odisha TV journalist found them and recorded their video that has been widely shared across India. Manjhi stated in the video that he was poor and he had told the hospital authorities he could not afford a vehicle but they said they could not offer any help.

A car was eventually organized for Manjhi.

The hospital denied reports that it withheld a car for him adding that no one knows when Manjhi carried his wife out of the hospital. They went on to add that even the death of his wife was not confirmed by the on-duty doctor.

A district official has stated that an inquiry has been launched into the incident assuring that due actions would be taken if any wrongdoing has taken place.

In several eastern countries, an “inquiry” or an “investigation” or a “judicial inquiry” are tools in the hands of authorities used effectively to calm down and control a violent or disturbing situation. The results of such “inquiries” seldom get to be known.

We came into this world ALONE ............ we need to take motivation from this fact .................

Molten Metal

For example, If a man is injured, he is able to crawl ........ shouldn't he drag himself to the nearby place where he would find some help .......... or he should just blame the society that no body is offering him a lift & loose is life ......... ? ............ Blaming others is in no way a good man's sign ........... ..........

On the other side this world would always have comments for you ....... which ever way you do the things you get criticized ........... If the man could have asked the daughter to help him carry the body from one side by placing the body over a wooden board , in that situation we must have told here that he is wrong ....... ........... we need to focus on the situation not the mode .......... ...... he did the right thing by walking out to the home before wasting any more time & reach home before sun set & do the other ceremonies ............

Brit, What a man on this earth would do other than carrying her body in any possible way ........... ? ..........

.

Please suggest natural ways, without use of technology , remember you are there where this man's wife breathed her last ............

Who spends 19 hrs looking at the screens ......... finds difficult to walk with his own weight of pizzas & pepsi ... ..... that's a reality .........

You body will go back to the stage where it was before you came into this world ............... ......

Your demand for a transport would not be valid ......... !!

Before birth & after death the vehicles we ride don't come from Japan or Germany ........ ......

None of you you know another story where police officials break the legs of a corps to fit it into a sack so they would carry it from the police station to the hospital for the most mortem through the market ..... the sack was carried on a bamboo pole by two humans ........ in this modern world ........

How sad.. I feel for the poor man.. In his grief he needed support, but was not given it. The hospital management should be ashamed of themselves - they deserve to be sacked if this story is correct
