South Africa World Cup expo comes to Doha

The South African Embassy is hosting a ‘World Cup 2010 Legacy Exhibition’ at the St. Regis Hotel for the next 3 days: 10 am to 6 pm from Sunday 2 June to Tuesday 4 June 2013.
Over 40 South African companies are expected arrive here to take part in the exhibition to share their FIFA World Cup hosting experience and expertise with Qatari companies.
The three-day exhibition is hosted by the Embassy of South Africa in Qatar and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of South Africa in association with Qatar Chamber (QC).
The South African Ambassador to Qatar Saad Cachalia, and the Director General of Qatar Chamber, Remy Rowhani, and Elizabeth Thabethe, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, South Africa are expected to be in attendance.
The DTI of South Africa aims to create stronger trade and investment ties between the two nations over the long term.
“The upcoming World Cup Legacy Exhibition is part of our efforts to make the 2022 World Cup a great success. We intend to take lessons from others’ experiences to transform every stumbling block as a stepping stone to achieve the ambitious goal,” said Rowhani.
The exhibition will offer a business-to-business networking opportunity for local business leaders and the organising authorities.
The event will showcase the South African companies that were vital to the success of the 2010 World Cup, held in South Africa.
These companies, from industries ranging from construction and supplies, security and logistics to food service, will share their experience and knowledge with Qatar-based businesses.
The 2010 World Cup exhibition has previously visited Brazil and Russia, hosts of the next two World Cup tournaments.
Companies interested in attending the exhibition are invited to register their interest by calling 4410 3022 or sending an email to [email protected].
There will be ample opportunities to meet representatives of the South African businesses and schedule meetings to discuss business opportunities.
