US Foreign Policy in the Middle East

Now that the United States withdrew from Iraq, the once supported dictators by the US are overthrown, like: Mubarak, or Ben Ali and the with current GOP debate and the near presidential election in 2011, not to mention the deep financial crisis the States are going through.
How do you see the future of the US Foreign policy in the region, let's just assume if Newt Gingrich(since he's leading the polls ) won the presidential election.

Do you think the US role in the region will weaken, which some says that it's happening right now to some degree?

BritExpat: Well. The erosion and decline of american influence in the world in general, and in the middle East in particualr, has taken place gradually over time and is a factor of many forces not attributable to any single episode or administration, but one can nonetheless identify a defining moment

If America continues to use its muscles just like what Bush and Cheney did after 9/11, it will seal the fate of US as a bankcrupt super power. China may be in collaboration with Russia will take over. Japan, and the rest of the prosprious Eas Asian nations may not look to the US anymore for alliance.

Think about it carefully, over 9 years of war over seas has broken America's economic might and image in the world.

The mess that the US is in now is not easy to fix. It will definitely take time. Obama's indeciseveness added to the prolonged problem.

The US aided the protester in overthrowing Mubarrak. They have bases in Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. I am sure they will covertly aid the anti-government forces in Syria.

Do you really believe that their power is diminishing in the region ?

Well in my opinion, there are two broad and interrelated trends have dramatically increased the chances of diminished American influence. First, some of the US traditional friendships in the region have become badly frayed, if not yet quite torn. Second and perhaps more decisive, US polices have fostered a growing perception of American retreat from a sixty-five-year effort to restrain the region’s self-destructive tendencies—tendencies that render it vulnerable to dangerous regimes and ideaologies.

The U.S like any other nation, but much better than most takes steps / actions for the attainment of its strategic goals.

As one leadership steps away , another is cultivated. So in reality nothing will change.

plz read the history specially WW2. most american politicians belief that war is the only way to bring the economy back on track when bush came every one thought he is the idiot one and look wat he did.there is a documentary called south of the border by oliver stone in this the ex president of argentina reveals that bush told him that war is good for economy. coz during the period of WW2 american companies got boosted by making weapons and other stuff for large amount of export to europe.

it doesnt matter who will win the next election or they are withdrawing from iraq they will find a new iraq they will find another osama.
