DOHA: The Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Special Envoy, Ambassador at Large Vasile Sofineteli recently visited Qatar to boost relations between the two countries and with other Gulf countries.
/
“I am promoting the ideas of partnership. We invite Qatari businessmen to look into the Romanian market, where they will find a lot of opportunities and they can be assured of our full support”, said Sofineteli.

“Romania has excellent Political relations with Gulf countries and the political dialogue is very sincere and friendly. In the last 20 years we have been aligning our relationship with the European Union and NATO because they are closer and we are in the same continent. But, we want to ignite and open new bridges with friends.”

“Traditionally we have had a lot of Arab students studying in Romania. Currently we have a few thousands, thus we have a large Arab community in Romania and many have taken Romanian citizenship.

The Ambassador added that Romania has good economic ties with the Arab World. “We can work together in the field of oil exploration, we can also assist big projects that Qatar is envisaging, like security systems in the new airport, also Information Technology, tourism and agriculture,” he said.
