Ramadan Curbs Imposed in China

anasfk
By anasfk

Its Shocking news that the things happening in China.

the government
imposed strict limits on religious practices during the Ramadan on Muslims.
in addition they r imposed
1. A ban on teaching Islam or Quran.
2. No students may fast.
3. No teachers may fast.
4. No Hijabs.
5. No Beards.
6. No out of town guests in Muslim homes.
7. No closure of restaurants for prayer or for fasting
purposes.
8. No visits to Muslim gravesites..
9. Muslim school students are 'educated' not to
fast.
10. Muslim government employees are forced to
'sign' an agreement not to pray, fast, or visit Mosques.*

It was unclear whether the rules would be relaxed after
> Ramadan, a holiday that some Islamic extremists have used elsewhere as a symbolic backdrop for attacks on their perceived enemies. It was also unclear how the Chinese authorities intended to enforce the rules, which appeared to run the risk of antagonizing devout Muslims who present no obvious security threat.

Against this what can be do as one Muslim and we are living in One Muslim country.

atleast the muslim countries are come forward to respond about this rude rule implimentations
and try to STOP trading with China and the ban to Chinees products importing and selling

and make sure what is wrong and what is right.

Try to see all the above mentioned links and watch Dr.Zakir Naik video presentation.

Its easiest method to learn about Islam rather than reading from Books.

Now a bite more serious, Chinese have already a lot of problems in different zones, and like Russia, they dependent from Europe and the U.S, their main comercial partners, and also due to their internal probs they would never support russia in the Georgia's question

adey, very well said.

while, the government chose peace under any circumstances. not dare to take any risks.

It could also be for others' conviniences. while Muslims still have their choices to fast if they can afford the routine time schedule.

I think the world should form some intellectual commitee of scientists and philosophers to study the effect of religious practices on one's own life and the society he is living in. States should accordingly set the level of religious freedom the massess can enjoy.

Anyway its china's internal matter to determine whats good for its citizens.

Religious practices are not always a security threat, but the bad practices should nevertheless be vanished to improve the quality of human life.

Why should a non muslim majority suffer a teacher's weekness due to fasting or his time out for the prayer during work?

But the employees should be given optional vacation to help them fast.

A very personal opinion.

I applaud back your correct naming of football and not that dreadful word 'soccer'

I should think more thought and philosophical pondering goes on in these than all the religious buildings in the world put together.

Yes Adey but China lost 300 hundred billion dollars last year just because of the decline in the dollar....

And China CAN NOT sell off their trillion plus US dollar reserve, because first no one wants it and secondly if China hinted at trying to sell it Japan and other countries holding reserve dollars would panic... leading to the crash...

American is selling snake oil, i tell ya!

The Euro will become the currency of choice. It already is for the criminal networks... so governments won't be far behind.

is developing markets outside the US and the west - banking is moving away from the US, the Euro may well become to world unit of currency and China will just carry on leaving the US behind.

Anyway this has nothing to do with the topic, interesting though it is.

Not at all. When the dollar collapses and it WILL collapse. China will be exporting dollars... as toilet paper...

And when the west no longer has the purchasing power for China's exports, let alone the fact that it is no longer viable to import 'made in China' anymore due to higher transport costs then China's economy takes a bad hit. Not to mention all the scandals that have been hitting their products in the past year or so....

I personally look for items NOT made in China. I do not like the quality nor do I trust their governments ability to oversee a safe product....

It is almost laughable. China is 'fueling' their own demise. And China still imports a lot of raw materials from outside of Asia.

guess who the Americans are borrowing the $700 billion off of to save their economy?

the world's biggest standing army, a nuclear power, a seat on the UN's permanent security council, one of the worlds biggest and fastest growing economies, satellite states producing many of it's raw materials and resources ..and...they have put men into orbit

I think you under estimate them at your peril.

....The Uighur population of western China is under tight Chinese control. Because the Chinese fear that ethnic Uighurs want independence for their region of the country, the government has taken draconian steps to repress Uighur nationalist sentiment. As Islam is perceived as underpinning Uighur ethnic identity, the government also represses most outward expressions of Islam.

For Uighurs to celebrate Muslim religious holidays, study religious texts, or show their religious identity through their personal appearance are acts that are strictly forbidden at state institutions, including schools. The Chinese government vets who can be a cleric, what version of the Koran is acceptable, where religious gatherings may be held, and what may be said at such gatherings.

Even the most peaceful Uighur activists, if they practice their religion in a way that the authorities deem inappropriate, face potential arrest and torture....

Dont think China gives a darn abt what anyone would think...They are here to stay(so to speak) and there isnt much the world can do against em that would really shake them...

and it did not start this Ramadan...There was a HRW article about Uighurs in China and the oppression they are facing for practising Islam.

"Does someone stopped you practicing your religion in Ramadan,"

Yes - the pubs are closed :D

On a more serious note if I were a christian I would wonder why a cross can not be displayed on the front of a church when there are no such restrictions on Mosques in any western country - but that's a different topic.

To you and Abu - I wasn't saying the situations are literally analogous and of equal severity, I was just saying there is not a complete 'live and let live' situation here in Qatar either

and

the very first thing I said was "I do not agree with the Chinese reaction". I would alter, on reflection, my words 'it's the same here' to "there are some similarities here"

Everyone hunky dory now? :)

But as you are aware from the Tibet crisis the chinese is a centrally controlled state - Mother China and all that - they broker no dissent. Hey, my post was not an indepth critic of Qatar, rather just a loose analogy.

Examples may be poor but are they generally true? if not then please can you improve my education in these matters.

As per your suggestions if the countries STOP trading with China and ban Chinees products importing and selling then probably you will end with nothing to buy in the market as the market is full of chinese products.Products from other countries are too expensive to buy.So be prepared to walk around without clothes on your body.

China enforces a ban on the teaching of all religions in all it's schools. Just as the US enforces the the ban on whole school prayer - the seperation of state and church.

I do not agree with the Chinese reaction but it is just the other side of the coin, just as I may have concerns about Qatar's actions in and outside Ramadan. It is not a muslim country yet it has muslim residents, such as Qatar is a muslim country yet it has non-muslim residents.

One can not complain when it's the same here

1. enforced teaching Islam and Quran in schools if you are a muslim.

2. All students must fast.

3. All teachers must fast.

4 & 5 All school pupils must wear Qatari national dress be they Qatari or not.

7. Closure of restaurants all for fasting

purposes.

9. Muslim school students are 'educated' to

fast.

10. Most non-muslim employees are forced to abide by Ramadan traditions at work.

This why freedom to live ones life free from government dictate is important. You can not decry one state without noticing the mirror-like image here in Qater.

I think both are wrong.
