They destroyed the Mosque building because of only reason the Dambulla area is “sacred town”
If,
Let me as you few questions,
1. If its sacred town, how can allow the hotels and restaurants where facilitating liquid and alcoholic drinks.
2. Is it ok for international sport stadium being inside the boundary?
3. Is it allowed non Buddhist personals pay visit into sacred town and spit around?

"did the buddhists realize that it was their sacred place after the mosque was built ??"

No, it the beginning they know.First tried to solve this my negotiation, failing of negotiation lead to a protect.Dambule temple started a protects against the Mosque after they realized this couldn't solve by silent mode.

There was a small private place to do religious activity in that place for the use of a Muslim Businessman.Later they want convert it to a Mosque. Then they started the expansion.

Objection was raised before the expansion of the Mosque.

Dear tssdoha,

Please don't mislead the people. No body destroyed the Dambulla mosque. The is an protect that asked to relocate the mosque.

sacred town doesn't means it is prohibited to construct Hotels , stadium or a stadium. Any body can start any legal business within a such city after getting necessary permission.

However the Mosque is an illegal building.Facts is why these people want to construct a mosque within a sacred town? Is it the start point towards another Kuragala. I think all Sri lankan well aware about the Kuragala situation.

Chief monk of Dambulla temple proposed to relocate the Mosque to another location out side the sacred town.He told that he will do the first donation also.

They didn't asked to destroyed, they asked only to relocate. Today also a meeting held between Prime minister and Muslim religious leaders. They will decide what to do.

Do you know, In Qatar there are no Buddhist temple? same situation is correct for Saudi Arabia and some other Muslim countries. However there are Hundreds of Mosque in Sri lanka.Sri lanka is a Buddhist country and open for any religion.

Srilankan people including Buddhist and Muslims live together for so many decades but it's sad to hear few peoples try to create a conflict among them.

You can construct any number of Mosques anywhere in Sri Lanka, but don't touch Buddhist sacred places.

and this are the same bigots that killed and murdered their own people just because they followed a religion and a culture that was different from their own.

Relocation of the mosque would have been a peaceful and amicable settlement. I didn't expect this from Buddhists.

Aren't they going to rebuild it somewhere else?

How many times can this same mosque be destroyed? Is it the same like the mosque built on top of a Jewish temple in Jerusalem?
